| MINI2 Regular | £58 for a full tank.... In a MINI ! Just filled up a full tank of diesel on Friday and hit £58 for a full tank! It really is crazy, I am just glad the economy is pretty good... Recently saw £1.26 per litre in North London... Can't imagine what a hard charging CooperS Auto would cost in fuel every week... Any ideas on using less fuel? Does chipping the engine help? |

Offline | I've regularly been hitting about £50-54 per tank up here in my petrol ONE for approximately 300-310 miles of driving. Fuel prices have shot up with the oil refinery strike around these parts. Plus, some stations have been running out of fuel or curbing how much you can buy in one visit. ![]() I'm seriously thinking about getting out and pushing the MINI home to save fuel. ![]() NeuroBeaker - Proud owner of "Zeus" (a 'slightly modified' 2004 MINI ONE). *WARNING!* Thesis writing in progress. | MINI2 Regular | A truck driver who delivered a shipping container to my warehouse a few weeks ago said that to brim the tanks on his lorry costs £950 !!! And he fills up twice a week!!! Think of all the Shell Points he gets.... And all the time spent in fuel stations.... No wonder Shell and BP are doing so bloody well ! Anyone fancy a Mini Fuel Protest? |

| MINI2 Master | i think when i first bought my S back in 2006 it cost 39 for a full tank. Well sooner or latter this has got to go back down or we will hit recession. Fuel is one of the most important costs in the market place, it affects everything. Some people are living on the edge and only just coping and it only takes a few months of this before we see loads chucking in the towel, then it will be a downward spiral. So lets hope it gets better soon. And those fuel workers in scotland are very selfish, there are millions in the uk who have had the same happen to themwith their pensions, striking never works. Do we need to look at the miners and see how true that statement is again. |

Offline | Trading in this country is getting very difficult and there will be alot of business going down. My company works in the field service and distribution areas. Whilst fuel costs are rising constantly, there is still a mindset of "doing a deal", "discount", "shop arround" ( its the ebay/internet culture ) Margins are non-existant. Only the cash rich business will survive if this carries n for 12 months more. the writing is on the WALL |

Offline | A R53 S auto (mine) does basically 29.5mpg every time I top up so I get around 290miles out of the 40 litres (8-10litres below the red line) I always top up just after the red line so cost exactly £50 this time at 108.9p per litre. I have a range of 320 to the whole tank but I do all town driving went up to 32.9mpg with motorway driving. We only use our MINI (our only car) on the weekends to get around, I walk to work and Shawn cycles. Saves us on petrol! So our tank lasts around 2-3 weeks. ![]() |

Offline | Wow thats awful! 18-20 on a One auto! Thats shocking no the Cooper S auto box is very different to the CVT and is used on the new style autos too. I think it only slightly higher reving than the manual S's. We've never been below 28mpg even when we first got it and *ahem* enjoyed its acceleration more than we should maybe? ![]() |

| Mini2 Regular | I have just been looking on petrolprices.com for the cheapest price in my local area now down to 129.9, £1.50 cheaper per tank than a few weeks ago. I saw on there that there is one garage that does Premium Diesel @ 135.9 a litre Has anyone here used Premium Diesel? Any difference in performance or mpg, curious to try it out and see.
