Offline | Fuel consumption after re-mapping? Now that Superchips have a One D re-mapping profile available I'm sure someone out there must have tried it. No doubt about the improved performance if the figures are correct, but what about the mpg? I will be getting my One D chipped after it passes the 1500 mile hurdle but I would be very interested to hear from anyone about the fuel consumption after re-mapping... |

Offline | Hi Steve I have (I believe) the first MINI ONE D which is chipped. We are running it as a demo car atm and it is brilliant. 55mpg on the cruise and no matter how hard you thrash it I cant get less than 44.8 on the OBC. Our car is still pretty tight but the chip lets it rev alot more freely and has performance of a COOPER. In a straight line the COOPER has the edge....just, but point to point the "D" is quicker cos you don't need to re-fuel so often ![]() |

Offline | That's great news, my only dilemna now is whether to put a few miles on the engine before having it chipped. It is a brand spanker, picked up from the show-room this week. Superchips have said that it doesn't matter either way, it can happily be chipped before or after a run-in period... Has anybody experience or knowledge on this? |

Offline | The best thing to do is just work it hard from day one, so get it chipped now. We don't run in our deisels, BMW or MINI, and they tend to be faster. I'm not saying red line it all the time, but don't be shy to work it hard ![]() |
