United-Kingdom Vehicle Excise Duty

For all of us that have recently collected Diesels from our dealer, make sure hat you have been correctly invoiced for the road fund licence!!!

My dealer (nameless) invoiced me £160 for a petrol Mini (Band D), where they should of invoiced me £115 for my diesel (Band A). So far they haven't admitted to the mistake, but have gone to look into it.

No doubt I will get the red faced appology pretty soon.

It's not entirely their fault.

It's not entirely their fault, BMW has yet to provide them with an option on their vehicle tax screen for the ONE D. When I got mine they had to pretend it was a ONE and then manually change the price pretneding their was a promotion running or something!

Hi,

You should also check your V5 has the correct emissions rating
recorded. If this is wrong you will always get a reminder at the
higher rate. Getting this changed is a pain as you have to get
written proof of the emissions rating from the manufacturer and
submitt this to the DVLA.

Cheers

Thankfully the registration document does have the correct emmissions rating on it - strangely though I have no seating capacity!!!

Good old DVLA.
