Unhappy One D Cutting Out!!

Our Diesel has developed a problem a problem since Saturday, where, it just cuts out and stops dead as you are driving along, bringing on an ETI light.
Just wondering if anyone esle has experienced the same problem?

It did it 3 times on Saturday and was taken to a nearby dealer at the time. They reckoned to have fixed it.......
But the wife was driving home alone on the motorway at 2:00 in the morning and it did it again!

It's now with the supplying dealer who, have had it since yesterday. They same that the computer did not store any fault and that they just reprogramed the computer, they are going to get one of the technicians to take it home tonight to see if it does it again.

Any suggestions??????........as the dealer doesnt seem to know whats going on.

Unhappy

I have not yet had this problem so far.
However I sometimes have another problem.

Once the engine is warm it usually starts extremely difficult. Driving to Italy a few weeks ago and refilling it I sometimes had to try 3 to 4 times before the engine starts at an extreme low rpm only to pick up after a few seconds. If the engine is cold there is no problem at all.
I have been to the dealer and they did some testing on it but did not find a problem. They told me that Mini is investigating similar problems in order to have all MOD’s replace the injectors.
Has anyone else got the same experience?

Some of the pre prod cars did this, but my 10,000 miles never did once.
Starting from hot, leave the gas pedal alone til it runs, if you pump the pedal waht cranking it over, it struggles some times.

Dealer has phoned this afternoon, the car failed as the technician was taking it home last night! Still no fault recorded on the computer.
They then investigated further and reckons that there is a problem with the high pressure fuel pump and something esle as well, promlem is ......
These parts are on back order from Germany,......Nobody in the UK is carrying them and the wait time is approx two weeks!!!!
I was about to suggest that I go down the road to my local Toyota Dealer and ask them to fix it!!!

At last!,
Car returned on Friday after almost 3 weeks!

Was told it was a combination of 3 things:

Fuel filter (not that it was dirty or that the fuel had a problem)
Airflow meter
& A.N.Other engine sensor

This was after ordering parts from Germany that made no difference! and robbing bits of a new ONE D

Seems to be fine now though!

You should have washed it once, and then done mine instead...........

The roads are terrible at the minute....it's a waste of time washing.

We collected the car from the dealers in Belfast on Friday evening (Washed)
..but by the time we go home it was like it had just completed a round of the World Rally Championship

Or at least the Donegal Rally!

I haven't washed either car in about 2 months now, from a lack of time, the dirty roads, raining at the weekends, and a weekend sick with the flu..........

Maybe I can justify it by saying its a good protective coating of muck !

that problem sounds like a common rail pressure sensor, did it cut out under load at high ish rpm?

Sensor

That sounds like the same problem I am having with mine - only cuts out at v high speeds/high rpm.

How much is it to fix and why does it not show on diagnostics?

Turned out to be a fuel filter issue!

Happened twice! 7K on both filters, some design issue I think, no problems after the 2nd filter though!

Had that problem once - started straight after and hasnt done it since - that was about 15000miles ago.

Must have been a glitch in the system I was told from MINI Dealer in Sheffield.
