Offline | New Car collected Yesterday!!! Yesterday i picked up my new ONE D and all i can say is it's very very good!!! i would of posted the same day but i was too busy driving it. The build quality has improved very much since i picked up my 1st cooper, The ride quality is much smoother even with 16's on and the improvements to the trip computer are also better. The only things i'm annoyed about was it took nearly 2 1/2 hours to do the paperwork , the dealer only gave my £10,000 for my Cooper and THEY SCRATCHED MY ONE on the drivers side skirt and on the roof where they applyed the union jack. The union jack needs to be re-applyed because of air bubbles. Other than that the cars wicked. It's like driving a steam train and does not seem that much slower than my old cooper. What's the average trade price for a cooper? (the spec's below in my signature) it had just under 19,000 miles on the clock. It had no marks/chips or dents on the outside. I will post some pics soon! 1st: 02 Mini Cooper , Silver metalic, Manual Aircon, Sports seats, trip computer, alarm, Pepper pack, ASC+T, Leather S/Wheel, heated washers/mirrors, Stereo Mods 2nd: 53 MINI ONE D, Indie Blue+Union Jack, Auto Aircon, sports seats, Salt Pack, Alarm, Leather S/Wheel, sports Suspension, visibility pack, heated washers/mirrors, 16" 5 star alloys. |

Offline | Hi James, pleased you like your D, but you don't say why you went from Coop to D, not that there's anything wrong with the D - I have one myself, and I'm a paragon of good taste. I've done 4.5k fault free miles on mine now, so it's lookin' good. You'll have to join us on a SCNM run sometime soon, there's a few peeps from your neck of the woods (but only one D ), just check out the SCNM threads of which there are three or four.See ya soon. |

Offline | Hi Harpo I changed from a cooper to the diesel because the cooper went through fuel like it was going out of fashion. I was spending on average £130 a month on fuel. which was about 270 miles at 32mpg. What kind of mpg do you get out of yours now that its run in? Mines on about 48mpg average but it still has to run in! 1st: 02 Mini Cooper , Silver metalic, Manual Aircon, Sports seats, trip computer, alarm, Pepper pack, ASC+T, Leather S/Wheel, heated washers/mirrors, Stereo Mods 2nd: 53 MINI ONE D, Indie Blue+Union Jack, Auto Aircon, sports seats, Salt Pack, Alarm, Leather S/Wheel, sports Suspension, visibility pack, heated washers/mirrors, 16" 5 star alloys. |

Offline | I get thoroughly brassed off if I get less than 500 miles from a tankful. I think the most I've had is about 540. Trouble is, most of my milage is on single carriageway roads and I have to constantly stir the 'box. Even so I still get round about the 48 mark, but I'm not complaining. You wouldn't with a Mini, would you ? ![]() |

Offline | Fuel round here is about 80p a litre, the £130 per month was only average cost's. Anyway that does not matter anymore. I have done 200 miles on just over 1/4 tank of fuel , thats why i wanted the diesel and its just as fun to drive if not better. 1st: 02 Mini Cooper , Silver metalic, Manual Aircon, Sports seats, trip computer, alarm, Pepper pack, ASC+T, Leather S/Wheel, heated washers/mirrors, Stereo Mods 2nd: 53 MINI ONE D, Indie Blue+Union Jack, Auto Aircon, sports seats, Salt Pack, Alarm, Leather S/Wheel, sports Suspension, visibility pack, heated washers/mirrors, 16" 5 star alloys. |

Offline | I'm at 8000km and regularly get 50mpg. Not much driving in town, fair bit of highway motoring, and plenty of nice wiggly bits in the uncongested French countryside. With a D, you can ALWAYS take the long way home ... ![]() |

Offline | "Fuel round here is about 80p a litre, the £130 per month was only average cost's. " Which means that by my calculations, at 32mpg you should have been doing about 1100 miles on that amount of fuel rather than 270. |

Offline | It will still cost about £30 a tank, diesel or petrol, I think diesel currently cost's more. The fuel tank is still the same size , its just you get more miles per tank in the diesel. It does not seem that much slower once you get moving. The engine is very smooth and quite punchy after 2000 revs. If anything i would say it's more fun to drive. I don't regret switching from a Cooper to a diesel one bit. ![]() 1st: 02 Mini Cooper , Silver metalic, Manual Aircon, Sports seats, trip computer, alarm, Pepper pack, ASC+T, Leather S/Wheel, heated washers/mirrors, Stereo Mods 2nd: 53 MINI ONE D, Indie Blue+Union Jack, Auto Aircon, sports seats, Salt Pack, Alarm, Leather S/Wheel, sports Suspension, visibility pack, heated washers/mirrors, 16" 5 star alloys. |

Offline | Ditto. Although I went straight to a D from an Alfa 156 diesel. I am a regular on SCNM runs and while the S's well out-accelerate me, it's not long before I'm back in the pack. Ergo, in real world situations you definitely will not lose out, either on the road or in your wallet. |
