MOD oil service interval

Today my MOD got its first Oil Service at 18.900 km on the tach (it cost me 124 €).
I monitored the displayed service interval regularly and recorded the values. You can see the result in the attached diagram.

From the initial 25.000 km until the next oil service it came linearly down to 19.000.
I'd rate my driving style quite normal (not doing excessive high revs ....

What are your experiences? Is this the normal interval?

NOt sure about the Diesel, but my new MC has 550 miles on the clock and the service interval says oil service due at 5403 miles, and I'm running it in gently

Have got 10k km on the tach and service is expected to be in 10500 km. I drive it rather firmly.

From my data I would conclude that you will have to go to service at ~17.500 km.
Thus not 10.500 left but only 7.500.

Keep us posted.

Thumbs up

20200 on the counter, have done the 1st oil change/maintenance at 19000 as indicated. After reception from garage, reset to 25000 km to go for the next one ...

Normal ? or not ?

mine:
1st: oil control at 17500 km
2nd: ispection now at 35000 km

for me not so good... i spent a lot of money for the bmw long life oil... but 17500 km isn't a long life in my opinion! My father Mercedes-Benz 270CDI had the first service at about 20.000 km and the second at about 43000... the beautiful of the Mercedes computer is that if you fill in oil in the car the oil service is postponed! My mini never postpones services...

Mine had its first change at 13,500 miles... Now done 15,500 and apparently got another 13,200 to go until my 1st Inspection, althought I'll probably have my new one by then, fingers crossed and all that!

Asked at Mini's today about all these different service intervals and apparently the harder you drive the quicker it comes down.

I was wondering if constant stop - start driving (in heavy traffic) would also bring the intervals closer together, or doing short journeys on a cold engine? As far as resetting the counter goes, I'm not sure about the Mini but I know a couple guys with older BMW 5 series and independent specialists have the equipment to reset their counters when they get them serviced.

1)L plates are what we display on the cars in uk for learner Drivers
2) Trash means crash in uk ..thrash means drive hard
3) The ASC+tT light flicks on when the wheels start to lose grip. It tell you the system is taking over.
4) ??
