Well already clocked up about 100 miles in the new car and so far am absolutely delighted. Car tracks straight. No squeaky seats, no rattles. The gearbox and all controls are a delight to use.

Only thing wrong is that the tool kit for the spare wheel is not there. Must have either been misplaced at the dealers or never fitted at the factory.

I've added a pic of it at the dealers on collection. Just ignore the ugly guy OK !!!

I got a loverly bunch of flowers for my wife and two shiney dealer key rings. My attempt to charm a second remote key failed - never mind.

Yes Smiffy - we all know you are a chrome junky.

I'm happy with the black bits. A nice contrast to the silver I think.

Cheers, Ken.

Same engine tuned to 90 bhp instead of 115. black grill and tailgate inserts, std car has steel wheels instead of alloys but everyone I know has opted for alloy wheels, though I did see a ONE at Rockingham on the parade with steel wheels

Std suspension set up insn't as hard as the Coopers Sport suspension, but this is an option.

The big difference is the price. In the UK the basic ONE is £10,400 compared to £11,600 for the Cooper. Insurance is cheaper as a result.

I have had the pleasure of driving all three variants on the road and around the track and in every day use the ONE is great, it's only when you push hard that you notice the difference. The Cooper S is a completely different animal, I didn't want to give it back after two days of playing around Rockingham!!

Hope this helps.

Hi All,

Six days and 350 miles under the car's belt. It is absolutely fantastic. Haven't been above 4000rpm but even at that it's a wee flying machine It seems to be loosening up already but I'll be following the run in guidelines to the letter.

I find the handling fantastic. I've never driven a car like this before. On bends and roundabouts there appears to be no roll or understeer. I've got the standard suspension which suits me perfectly as the ride quality is still pretty smooth apart from on those bl**dy speed bumps they seem to put everywhere

Keeping this car clean may end up taking up a lot of my time. In six days even though it was immaculate when I collected it I've washed it twice and polished it once

Ken , I have the standard suspension on my one as well , and I have now travelled 2500 miles. When I first got it , the car hated speed bumps , but it seems looser and there is much a smoother(less teeth rattling) experience....

hope you're enjoying...

cheers Martin
