| Polo GT Owner! | The Great Big MINI One MPG Poll Well im convinced my MPG isn't that good for a MINI One so whats yours? I average around 30MPG Which goes up on longer journeys I had 36MPG at the weekend, my car's also been remapped with the Superchips Bluefin upgrade!Any tips for a better MPG? Apart from not thrashing it! Please don't add to the Poll If you've not got a MINI One Petrol! ![]() Please note if you've had any mods!!! Last edited by GR33NIE : Apr 20th, 2006 at 08:06 PM. |

Offline | Don't thrash it! Ooops sorry! Seriously - not only don't thrash it, but; don't floor the throttle, even at low revs, just "chase" the revs with the pedal, don't use too low a gear (but equally don't be in too high a gear & have to use large throttle openings to get going) don't use the brake unecessarily - wastes speed you're only going to have to get back later. I know this sounds dull, but a lifetime spent commuting along boring traffic filled roads teaches you a few things about how to spend your precious fuel / money. PS as I have a Cooper, I haven't voted, but I'm regularly over 42mpg - even kept around 40mpg on a run with Becca & Matt on Monday around country roads |

Offline | 29.1 mpg at the moment, i've had it down to about 26.3 i think but then i had a new gearbox fitted and it suddenly went back out to 31.Typically mine is like yours at around the 30 mpg mark, about 99% of my mileage is around town.I would like a MCS but i fear i'd not get much above 20 mpg if i can only get 30 out of a MO. ![]() |

Offline | I get 240 miles out of a tank full of tesco 99 ron. My car has been remapped and this is figure is mainly for short journeys and the car gets thrashed:-). I was getting 20 miles less per tank full out of Shell Optimax. MINI One |

Offline | I get about 29-32 on average. Even if i drive slow and keep the revs to a minimum the most Ive had out of it was 36mpg...I'll quite happily spend a bit more cash to have more smiles ![]() |

Offline | on normal 95 ron, the best I got was 325 miles from one tank. Which is around 30-31 mpg I think. But that was all motorway driving so usually less. I have an ECU remap too. on Tesco 99 I think it's less but that's because it makes me drive faster... haha. It really does love it. |

Offline | when ever i use optimax or u;timate i get a worse mpg, whats that all about? anyway on average im always in high 20's and low thirties on motorway, i dont particularly thrash the car either. My mrs has a cooper and for example the same run we do to wales, it uses bang on quarter of a tank in her car and a third of a tank in mine. |

Offline | Haven't added to the poll as I have a convertible (heavier than a normal ONE ) but I used to average around 30mpg using normal 95RON unleaded. I tend to get 2-3 mpg more using super unleaded (loving the Tesco 99) ![]() That's mostly 'enthusiastic' around town (not city centre) driving. Can get a lot more if I really try but who wants to coast around at 1500rpm? ![]() |
