DIY MTH Standard v MTH Tuning

Does anyone know what the differences between the 2 MTH versions are likely to be on a ONE (apart from the obvious 10bhp and 200 euros !!).

175 euros for the standard MTH seems like a great deal to up the ONE by about 30bhp, but would I be better off saving for the more expensive version ? Interested to hear from anyone with the Standard map on their verdict.

Would also be interested to know if anyone has a cable for sale/rent/loan ! 75 euros seems a bit steep for an ODBII diagnostic cable, especially as I have seen one for as low as 10euros - but then I guess there may be something special about the MTH cable and I don't think that I would want to take a chance of ending up with a deceased mini.

I have the 'Tuner' file in my '05 ONE.
Makes a huge difference to whole driving experience.
Much more down low and pulls like a train from about 4000rpm up to new 7200rpm limit!
Also you get free map upgrades for 12 months, say if you put a k&n panel filter on it or exhaust etc.
Well worth the outlay in my opinion.
Fergal.

DIY

In case anyone else is interested I found this on North American Motoring.com (I suspect it was writen by MTH).

Standard file
The standard file is designed to get rid of any „hick-ups“ the car has and for sorting out the standard factory ECU faults.
ONE D ca. 98 BHP
ONE ca. 125 BHP
COOPER ca. 125 BHP
COOPER S ca. 190 BHP

Tuner file
The tuner file is especially made to gain power and torque and is made specially for any particular car in order to make best use of all different modifications. It makes quite a substantial difference to the standard file. The improvement is mainly felt at lower revs. Here we gain ca. 15% of power and torque (compared to the standard file). The throttle response is highly improved and the car is much nippier.
ONE ca. 135 BHP
COOPER ca. 135 BHP
COOPER S ca. 200 BHP
COOPER S JCW 200/210 ca. 230 BHP

It would appear that Bluefin is more popular in the UK and MTH in US and AUS.
Still hoping to find someone who has actually used the Standard file on a ONE or COOPER.

Hi all

Can I check if MTH actually still selling the remaps?? The MTH website has changed quite a fair bit in the last couple of months, as far as I know in Singapore enquries are pointed to Hiops the parent company or their dealers and the price is very much higher but basically the same thing.

Can someone shed some light on what ths situation is like in the UK and Aust
