Hi

Just so people won't get the idea you are trying to sell your car here without joining Priviledge Membership, I've removed your spec.

Now people can be free to tell you about trade ins.

You`d generally get more money selling privately although most people take the dealers lower trade in value just to avoid the extra hassle of advertising & wheel kicking

what a load of rubbish,, i just got a warning cus i posted my spec?

i wanted to know how much i should sell for if i did take that option, but freedom of speech is barred as mini moderators are worried i was advertising my car, i wanted to discuss it, my options, which is what i thought this site was about,,,,,,

how the hell u think im gunna join a priv member secion after some petty dictating by some moderator who didnt ask why i had posted spec, but rather slap down a warning,,,,

get ur florecesnt jacket and become a traffic warden, in for money making, not the mini

disgusted!

Can't see why the spec was taken off. From the 'tone' of your post it is/was obvious you were just asking for advice... (Gets ready to be flamed...)

The moderators are only doing their (unpaid) job of keeping everything fair on the site.
Remember, its not just you, this has been the way of doing things on here since privilege membership was introduced.
Although you posted your spec quite innocently, there have been those on here whose sole intention was to use M2 as their marketplace without giving anything back in return.
This wasnt fair to the paying advertisers & those who had decided to pay £10- for the advantages privilege membership gives.
The arguement goes like this:- Someone could have contacted you to make an offer on your car after seeing the spec, in effect giving you FREE advertising space.

Also, the spec of the car is often irrelevant - extras/options usually add little or nothing to the resale value...

For instance, when I asked for a part-ex price for my car, the dealer didn't even ask what spec/options I had, just colour/mileage etc.!

well everyone can see you spec by clicking the red mini on the right hand side of your post, but anyway. Try PistonHeads.com :: Speed Matters = you'll get purchasing people from companies bartering deals. push 'em hard and get what you want

There is some good advice on where and how you can get advice on 'what your MINI is worth' in the site rules, which if you had read and followed you wouldn't have got a warning

http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?f...ite_quidelines

At least it was only a warning, which is in my opinion fair, as there are more serious punishments that can be passed on

Might also be worth you reading the Posting Etiquette section of the site rules too, instead of exploding next time, and also looking at the part about text speak too.

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?
