Offline | bluefin? i have been looking through previous threads and read with interest about power increases on the one. I know a few of you on here have these fitted and wondered about what difference it makes to your mpg?? i had a blue fin on my mondeo st24 and a viper induction kit and the bluefin made it smoother and more powerful and increased the mpg. Is the same true for the mini one? The bluefin figures on the power increases on the mini are very good but has anyone actually checked these figures for real on their own car (sometimes these figures are fantasy, or a one off on some high reading rolling road). your experiences and opinions would be appreciated please...thanks ![]() |

| Leeds + Harrogate Run | I have a remap which is pretty much the same thing and I must say that my MPG has dropped severley... Maybe I am driving the car harder which i severley doubt, but that is just my personal opinion. When the man came to map it, I was told fuel economy will get no worse, and in some cases, better.... ![]() |

Offline | I found that my mpg dropped when i got bluefin, but thats only because i drove the car harder, even if i try and take it easy, it still isnt as good. But maybe the bluefin has changed the way i drive my car, because even if i think im taking when the chip is off it still doesnt seem to change the fuel consumption that much. |

Offline | is the power difference as substantial as they say..cus if it is its well worth £300. i found that if you have other mods that the blue fin doesnt work aswell(on my old mondeo st24), this is because it is set up for changing the stock engine, so if the engine is changed the bluefin doesnt work as well..is this true of the mini one? |

| Formerly LookalikeJCW | well i think that it pushes the bhp to a certain point then if that has been pushed by other mods it will not be as much, but if its just the exhaust been change it wont make a difference to the bluefin, the powerdifferance is similar to a cooper, my sister has one and they have a similar push past 400rpm gd stuff. mark |

Offline | For a mini One, bluefin makes the most difference to performance than the other minis, and if could give you two words of advice, i'd say GET IT, from all the mode i have purchased bluefin is no1. I have found a nice little mod which is cheep to compliment the bluefin, the MiniMania airfilter pannel, it doesnt change the noise as it fits straight into the airbox replacing the old filter, but i have to say that for something so small it really has changed the car for the better in terms of throttle response and the rate in which the revs seem to pic up. I have tried other induction kits and have found that some of them seemed to reduce power in the car. By getting both at the same time you should be grinning from ear to ear! FOAM AIR FILTER ELEMENT - MINI COOPER '05-'06 MODELS This filter is for the face lift model but they also do exactly the same thing for the previous models. |

Offline | sounds good, think i will get one after christmas....dont know about a filter as well though as i have got to convince the missus about the bluefin first. But , just by chance she said today that she misses the power of the old car a little so i've got a bit of leverage now to help me persuade her!! |
