My new mini and some news on extras

Ordered my new mini yesterday. Black Mini One with salt pack, 6CD changer, new glovebox, ASC+T and 8 spoke alloys. Very excited!

Just to add that I asked about the Harmon-Kardon and my dealer said they have had some news that it will definately be available in the 48th week of the year (i.e. the first week of December) too long for me to wait though. He showed me some nice piccies of the glovebox which tempted me into getting it - only £20 extra and a nice chrome handle! He also confirmed that the sound module wouldn't be available in the UK for the forseable future...oh well.

Think I'm going to try and get the extra headlights too - bit pricey (£145 each) but look damn good.

Just a quick query. He advised me not to bother with the boost if I was getting a changer as there was a pre-amp built into the package. Is this right? Is there any other reason to get the boost? Is the headunit any different?

I think he's perfectly right advising against the boost. AFAIK, the boost is the essentially same head unit but with a bigger internal amplifier. Obviously, if you're getting the HK, that uses an external amplifier and so won't be needed.

Saves a bit of money too

I think it would be worth enquiring exactly what you get with the boost. I say this because there are two different wiring looms and two sets of speakers. The first seems to be set for the wave radio with the second classed as HIFI possibly for the boost.

So I think the boost upgrade is more than just a headunit upgrade.

Was a 1, now 1 of 150 in a 40
