With tesco which is who im going with in feb is £2990.75p full comp . with all my mods declaired, but with out them i was quoted £2299.40p. Before i had the crash i was only paying £1400 like you.

Oh Right,

I like the idea of being able to return the car to standard, and then back to bluefin mode when you want.

And I also aggree with you that being fully insured would be the best way to go...knowing me driving about in a car with more performance than a cooper, i'll end up having a prang which will then result in the insurance company finding out my secret.

Better Safe Than Sorry

That £1400 though is including my induction kit and strut braces if it was standard i could get it for under a grand

A wise word from someone older....

If you install any mods...tell you insurance company. Yes the bluefin is reversible but thats not easy to do if the car has been seized by the police cause you have just ploughed through a bustop killing three people. The police and insurance company will find mods including remaps if they really want to start looking.

Then you won't be insured.

Hi all,

Literally minutes away from purchasing a bluefin direct from superchips. Just a few questions though:

1: Will this affect my warranty on the Mini one?
2: is it worth it for all of that money?
3: Does it remove the "red lights" that are on the rev counter?
4: Does the MPG Change at all? (When driving normally, and when thrashing!)
5: For the people who have it, what was the customer service like, and was it easy to do?

If i could get an answer to the above questions, and they are something that i like, i will definately buy one, Im getting so annoyed, because my mate has a Corsa 1.2, and even that pulls off quicker! and isnt much slower full stop!!! which is a p*** take really! What about every one else with a standard one? do they have this trouble, afterall, is is a 1.6! it should leave a 1.2 for dead! maybe its just my mini!

Thanks for your time

Robbie

1. Maybe, apparently its undetectable but see answer to question 2

2. It's worth every single penny. You won't fully understand until you have it.

3. Don't know but see the answer to question 2.

4. Refer to answer 3

5. I have the OneClick from AMD (basically the same) and its easier than programming your video.

Stop stalling and BUY ONE!!!

Adrian flux are good with mods, but bluefin is undetectable, so dont declare it, i havnt. all my other mods are declared just not the bluefin as its reversable and undetectable..... so why? I have a friend who is one of the head mechanics in BMW and he told me that they tell customers they can trace it but in the real world they cant.

1. depends on the dealer...my dealer didnt void my warantee with my mods.
2. £300 is quite cheap compared to some mods which would give the same power.
3.no it doesn't remove the lights.
4.my MPG got 2mpg better when using bluefin
5. my dealer reset my ECU when I didn't to tell them it had an ECU remap and Superchips reset my bluefin handset for free.

However if a 1.2 corsa is giving you trouble, it is probably your driving style more than anything

Please think very, very, carefully before giving and receiving advice that could leave drivers uninsured.

Ok fair point there tigger, but it was just what i had been told by many people in the car business.

And maybe i shouldnt tell people to not declair mods, all i can say in return is check it out with your insurer first and speak to a few companies who suply remaps and ask there advice.

well, my insurance is 100.00 more, with bluefin, k&n air induction & i must say i agree with BIG KEV, if you get mod cons think of other road users if you have a wack & kill someone, the old bill will strip your car & find the bluefin etc, its not worth it!

no it programs itself to the car you use first so you can not use it on another car. However if you are lucky superchips will reset it for free if you tell them its your new car...but even if they do that it will still be locked on the "new" car

What ever happened to "AMD One Click" ? I seem to remember that this was around before the Bluefin, but haven't heard of it for ages
