Works Sound Kit on My ONE ?

Right im intrested in the Sound Kit for my One for my 18th Birthday,

As i know it is a Cooper Mod, But quite a lot of people seam to be able to get it done on there ONE's from a dealer.

What would i get if i got it on my one ?

As with the cooper you get

air filter and stainless-steel sports exhaust, engine management software Works badges on the rear, on the air filter and the engine cover.

What would i get with the ONE, As the ECU would not work ?

Also what price am i looking at Fitted ?

Thanks Jordan

There is one place I know that can do this for you, they are not a dealer but have had a close association with mini's and JCW for many years.
They can also set up your One with the old Cooper works kit, i.e the 130 bhp setup as used by the Challenge cars.! (I'll PM you a link)

The only downside with this is neither will be dealer approved and thus could void your warrenty.
So if your still determined to go down this route of tuning your car and are not concerned about the warrenty, I suspect your cheapest option would be to look what other after market tuners such as Lohen can do for you .

Thanks Chris

Its more the exhaust side of the Sound kit i want, More then Tuning as i don't think my Insurance will like that.. Unless a new Exhaust would pit it up aswell ?

Also i need my warenty, It gets used quite a lot lol.

Thats why i was thinking of the Sound Kit as the warenty would still be there and the car would sound great

Link was very Helpfull

When I ordered my Cooper in 05 mini used to do a dealer fit accessory called a sport exhaust for £400!

I haven't seen this for a while.but in the photo it looked very similar to the Sound Kit
exhaust, so it might be worth seeing if there are any of these knocking about.

You might found a cheap one somewhere as I don't know anyone that's ever had one fitted?

I remember reading about them on the website, I have never seen one lol.

I think the insurance implications have void my plan for any mod like this, Tell the future

Jordan. I have had correspondance with both JSN and !!cam!! recently about insuring the soundkit, both were having problems. If I recall correctly both settled for the JCW exhaust that Woodmans have in the special offers section. Have a word with these guys, see if they can help.

I think my insurance went up about £50 when I fitted a Miltek when I was 17, but I guess it depends if your insurance company will even insure mods at all

I had this on my ONE, I paid £350 fitted which is alot but aleast it didnt affect the warranty, and it did sound pretty awesome

Soundkit wise some dealers will not fit the sound kit to ONE's as it's not meant for them, well North Oxford certainly wouldnt for me anyway Jordan

Does any one know if there are any bmw dealerships around the Surrey/Middlesex area that will fit the JCW sound Kit to a mini one?? i Have seen a few people on this website have it on there mini ones,

Does any one know how much this may have cost??

The works remap that comes as part of the sound kit how does that compare to the Bluefin remap??

Cheers,

Personally I'd order the parts and then have a garage fit it (not BMW prices!). Then buy the Bluefin map instead of a JCW (BMW won't do the map on a ONE anyhow, unless you know people ) Blue fin gives more power anyhow. The JCW soundkit only adds a few bhp over the standard cooper 115bhp. The bluefin give 130ish and then you also get the JCW soundkit noise

Ok Kool thanks for the advice richard,

You dont know how much the JCW exhaust and air Filter would cost on its own then from BMW do you??

Yhe Bluefin def sounds better then,

Cheers,

Italy

I have been reading about people getting the sound kit on a ONE. I'd like to do the same, even without getting the map (I'll take care of that later when I fit the new exhaust manifold anyhow so I don't care for it), so I was wondering if those who got it on a ONE had it fitted in BMW or outside it, because if they got it fitted in BMW...i'm gonna ask my dealer for it as soon as I can!
