my first post..

my mini one is one year old now and i had a letter from my dealer for booking a service.

i have only done 4100 miles, should i book this 1st service ? I do have the service pack so it should not cost.

the reason i ask is, the on board indicator says i still got quite a few thousand miles to go.

Thats weird why they have snent that???.... It should be a 2 year interval for when they service that car.

Its completely upto you but i imagine even though they have sent you that when you turn up at the dealers they will turn you down untill the service indicator says within 1000 miles or its close to its 2nd year!

i took mine in recently as i hit 25000 miles and they wouldnt service it for the reasons above!

My mini was 2 years old on Saturday First service (Oil service and Brake fluid change) done on Friday. 1st oil service is 10000 miles or 2 years which ever comes first

This is what most people think and this is what i thought but its wrong. I do agree that it should be either 2 years or 10000 miles then it keeps it regular but its actually

2 years or when the service indicator says with less than 1000 on it,

for example the 2nd service is at 25000 miles so i took my car in and they would not service it as the indicator had 3900miles til the next service, and the 2 yr point is in september.

So its 2 yrs or when the sevice indicator has less than 1000 miles on it, and the harder you drive the car the quicker it decreases the softer you drive the slower it decreases!

In this case im going to now service the car to an extent my self such as an oil change because its to long intervals if i leave it for BMW to do!

thanks everyone. i will go with the service indicator, which currently says Oil Service 5320 miles.
