Does any one know if they fit the gap nicely with the aero bk on just i cant find any pictures?? Have people brought the front pipe with or with out the silencer for either of these exhausts what would people recommend silerncer or no silencer in the front pipe?? Offline | personally i have a milltek but i have fitted a slash cut play mini on a freinds car . personally i think the slash cut looks the nuts . the play mini is certainly a good quality system . as for the mid section silencer . my mate decided to go with it . the exhaust is loud but not to mental . unfortunatly ive not heard one without a mid silencer to comment ![]() |

Offline | Hi mate I only just got a slash-cut PM for my Cooper. Don't have the Aero kit (user Chilli has one I think) so cannot comment there but it's a good looking system anyway. No mid-silencer on mine and I don't think it needs it, even though I have an induction kit as well. I fitted it initially with just a panel filter and it was definitely not too loud. I did not want my car sounding like a boyed-up Jap hatch, and I'm very happy with what I got. It doesn't boom at speed and sounds pretty sexy at idle, over-run or when blipping the throttle a little. If you drive it hard it will be louder, if you don't it isn't that different from standard really, maybe with a slightly deeper tone. I listen to music less in the car since I fitted it anyway, so it sounds good to my ears. Nothing really to compare it too, except maybe a JCW system I heard which didn't sound that sporty at all from the outside, but maybe opens up when going fast. Good luck. What new bits? I didn't buy any new bits... |

Offline | No worries mate. I fitted the system myself one Saturday, not s difficult job but make sure you have the right bolts and nuts available. M10s for the system pipe to the Cat, and I think it's M8s for the backbox support strap, but these are probably included when you get the system. The pipe flange holes are about M12 size but the Cat's are smaller. You will also need some exhaust sealant to make sure the backbox and system pipe have a good seal when they are clamped together. Check with the people you buy it from if they supply a gasket for the system to cat flanges. Not expensive to buy anyway from a shop. Total time to remove and refit for a garage would be less than an hour, for yourself on axle stands at home, allow a couple with a tea break in the middle. Good luck mate, if you are going to fit yourself and need advice just let me know. I also agree on the colour choice Adrian What new bits? I didn't buy any new bits... |
