What mods??

hi, just found out about this site yday, and am hooked allready lol

ive had my 02 ONE for a few years now, and my sister has been driving it mainly, but now im selling my smart brabus, il be driving it more often, and want to know what are the basic mods that should be done?

i have had a quick look, and i can see that a shortened ariel is in the list. i have a sony headunit, but i dont know how hard it is to install?? and exhaust?? my budget is small...

oh and i was thinking about putting vinal's on the side, as some CHAV'S have keyed the lengh of my car TWICE...so hoping it would cover that up.

I would appreicate any feedback. many thanks,
med

yeah the 17" S Spokes or Bullets would dramatically change the outside of the car! you dont have to opt for the runflats!

bonnet stripes and 2 spot lights would look good too! cooper S filler cap as well

Hi, mate you have a 2002 mini one, and so do i you need to contact Tony Franks as he will be able to remap your mini with the MINI COOPER WORKS 133BHP which is now what the Motorsport teams use, i have it and it's great. the best money i have spent although you need the stainless exhaust as well as this greatly improves air flow. i'm am not sure of a cost as he wil quote dependant on parts he has, i got mine for a bargin as he had a secondhand stainless exhaust so all up £150 although you will also need induction kit of some kind, the works one is just a pipercross sponge i belive mine just has works sprayed on it. GREAT SOUND AT 3000 REVS. then your'll need to think about stoping power as the ONE brakes won't last long with this power increase. mine lasted about 6 months i now have JCW brakes. Wheels if you bare in mind the bigger the wheel the less acceleration you'll have although a slightly higher top end, but only mineute, i run 18" R90 Replicas look the nuts, also lowered mine 30mm, aero kit fitted as i type. the mods i have mentioned here should keep you going for a while if you need any more help just pm me. the only other advice is shop around as some people want way to much for secondhand perfomance parts.

Good Luck

jacked up does your remap tug back on the car? tony reset it but its still like it. Really annoying!!

I say bigger wheels, and an aero kit will transform your ONE

Vikki,

I know what you mean but isolved mine with reinforced piping, you know the little one that goes from the halfway from the induction kit pipe to the engine block. that is if you have an induction kit? but i hope you know the one i mean as i can't send pics from out here. change it it willl make a world of differance, the reason it tugs back is that this pip collapses and stop air getting to the engine. change the pipe and go from there, if you don't have an induction kit this might also be the problem as the engine with the worksmod needs more air. hope this helps.

also you don't have a works exhaust do you ? this might also be a problem with remap.

Chris, i would highly reccommend the works remap over the superchips one, however there are a few things you need to take into account, this remap is only possiable if your car is a pre 04 plate, it is not removable once on its on, however i belive its only £65 but don't quote me on that.
I had a bluefinn and forme the JCW is the way to go, as the bluefinn is rmovable but if you put it on why on earth would you want to remove it,

anyway thats my opinion if you can get out of it i would also call about the exhaust as well as you might get it cheaper all in.

hope this helps

Nathan

thanks mate, if you could PM me tony's contact details. which induction kit will i have to get? and how much did u pay for ur brakes? as i have a low budget..n the remap would be really nice, especially if i can get an exhaust for that price. i was thinking of getting a cooper S exhaust and bumpers, so would that exhaust be o.k?? also, when you lowered it by 30mm, did u have any rubbing noises?
thanks, med
