Update

So here's the latest. Basically they've ordered the parts today for me, and hopefully they'll be at the dealers tomorrow. If not then the day after, and my Mini will be back on the road by the end of the week Anyone know how long you gotta run it in for? As I imagine I'll have to do that

Got the car back today, feels a bit ropey but I guess that's just the start of the running in process. Hopefully I'll do 1000 or so good miles before Top Gear Run

So here's the latest from my car. It's Sunday and my already loose exhaust bracket just snaps leaving the exhaust being held by only the pipe So I grabbed some cable ties and my tow hitch and strapped it up, perfect bodge job.

I had a trip to Watford on Monday so it had to last me all day - as I was about to set off to Watford with an already dodgy exhaust, my Brake Disc Warning Light comes on. Joy.

So basically new exhaust bracket was fitted today at something like 41,500 miles, and rear breakes being sorted Friday

sounds like the perfect excuse for a playmini exhaust. also when/if you get the aero kit you are hankering after you should paint your s-spokes black!!!

Haha I considered a Playmini but then realised the sound was much too 'in your face' for my liking - I'm going for either Milltek or Larini, you don't see many Larini's so probably that.

Was considering that, but I was originally gonna buy some Team Dynamics 1.2's before I realised Lohen had them So I'll probs leave as it is, good ideas though and thanks

Thought I'd add a picture I was really happy with after the car had a long deserved clean a couple of days ago

Also along with the picture I thought I'd add a list of updates to the car; I've decided to do some de-stickering and go for the more subtle look, and so my BBMC topper stickers, lohen.co.uk wing mirror stickers, John Cooper rear signature sticker and MiniOneSam rear window stickers for the Top Gear Run have all vanished, and the above picture is the result

Will get some more up soon. What does everyone think?

Looking like a cracking car Sam I've recently been offered a cheap Cooper on the quiet, and your gearbox problems and my low mileage problems on my Fiesta (this is a 51 Plate 31k mile Cooper on its original gearbox) have begun to put me off

Any more plans a few months on?

That's a real shame because I'm sure it's a nice car, but the problem is the darned Midland gearboxes, being an '01 car you'd stand next to no chance of getting any good will from BMW, my car was 10 days out of warranty when it went bang, so in a sense I was extremely lucky, as a couple of months on and I may have had to take the brunt of it and probably let the car go for less than £4000 I estimated How much have you been offered the Cooper for?

I really want the Aero Kit, but I'm starting University in Septemeber and so it seems silly if (hopefully not!!) I have to let the car go. Two front spots would be nice, and possibly even some JCW Alloys - but might be looking at an S for the end of the year - so fingers crossed!!

Its been offered to me for £5195 - If I say no, they keep the car for another between 2-6 months - Then the future of the car is un-certain.

wow an S before the end of the year! What a goal to achieve & aim for!!
