Offline | My Mini One - 1 Year (and 2 days) later... Well it's been a whole year (and two days!!) of owning a Mini now, and I've loved every single day of it. From a bog standard February 2004 ('53) Mini One Pepper to what it is now, I'll detail it's journey by the means of using photographs!! So here goes... It all started on my 17th birthday, 31st December 2006... Then after a while I decided to buy myself some cheap *cough* "modifications" So some cheap as chips John Cooper signature stickers didn't go amiss off eBay. COST: £1.19 The first body modification was the addition of some Ultra Rear Lexus Lights. COST: £40 (I have now got rid of these and replaced them with the original Mini lights )Then came possibly my cheapest yet most effective modification, some chrome bulbs to get rid of that horrible eggy glow from the front sidelights. The Silvatec lookalike chrome bulbs (OPPOSITE PIN) are so much cheaper from eBay so I recommend you all look and get some asap!! COST: £3.24 ![]() A very old add on the MINI2 classifieds from Bob (SoggyCornFlakes) and a £5 donation to the MINI2 Charity Ball fund later, I had myself a Chrome Rear Cup Holder Surround. COST: £5 I was really pleased with the chrome ring, so I asked Bob if there were any different items up for grabs, and another £5 dnation to the Charity Ball fund gave me a Gear Stick Surround in Chrome. COST: £5 After this came the first engine modification, a second hand, yet still great quality, Pipercross Viper Induction Kit. COST: £100 And then to get more noise, I decided to remove the cold air feed pipe... Then came the best (in my eyes) visual modification yet, my S Spokes COST: £300Just a couple of weeks after this, I finally got the money together to buy one of the most talked about (and highly recommended!!) modifications for the Mini, the Superchips Bluefin. COST: £270 ![]() Then came the Ultra Black Side Indicators from Lohen, a nice discreet add on for the side of the car. COST: £21 ![]() Things went a bit quiet for Mini after that (except of course for the Pipercross ), until I gave Phil at Minipirate a call to sort me out with some amazing Bonnet Stripes, Toppers (above the side indicators) and a GP Style Roof Number for the BBMMC club. COST: £50 (stripes) - COST: £18 (toppers)A personalised number plate soon followed. COST: £249 - COST: £11.39 (plates) And here we are today... My Mini Adventure 2006 - ???? ![]() Last edited by MiniOneSam : Jan 3rd, 2008 at 08:03 PM. Reason: Added more pictures |

Offline | Well I think as most of the guys on here will say, who says there's an end I might finish all the bodywork and interior and decide I want to do an engine transplant? The possibilites are endless. A while back at Stratstone MK I happened to see EXACTLY how I always dreamt my Mini to look (before I even owned one) and it was amazing as it was EXACTLY what I'd dreamt of...Funnily enough I went in and said it to the sales advisor that the car was how I envisioned mine to be one day, and he said the two guys that'd just been in had bought it recently and were checking on it before picking it up the next day ![]() So yeah I've already got the Stripes, S Spoke Alloys, Roof decal I'm not bothered about as I have sunroof, so only Aero and Spots to go - but with Uni around the corner, the Mini may have to go ![]() ![]() Last edited by MiniOneSam : Jan 3rd, 2008 at 09:14 PM. |

Offline | Ha if only it was that easy I want to keep it as long as possible, but some Universities were built on agreement with their respective local councils that the Universities would not permit its students to own cars, and any found owning cars on/off campus can be fined £200, as the councils don't want to increase congestion ![]() But I still have to check all five of my choices of University as to whether or not they allow cars, I think one of them does, so just gotta check the other four Do you think I should get the Aero Kit next? ![]() |

| Pure Silver Batman | Oh Right never realised that universitys down south were that hard on the students with cars. In Aberdeen (quite small) you can get parked very easily...well at least with no £200 fines haha. Get the Bus!! ![]() I think Aero Kit all the way...However Colour Coded 'S' styling is another option, Looks just as good. ![]() |
