Offline | Mini One v MGZR 105 Hi Guys and Girls I am an MGZR driver and have been having a debate over on there forum, basically my gf has a mini one and I have said that this can beat me to 60mph and also flat out. Inbetween these speeds there is not a lot in it with the ZR maybe shading it. What are your guys opinions on this ? |

![]() MINI2 Master | It depends on which ZR model you own as they go from the ZR 1.8 VVC (160 BHP), down to the ZR 2.0 TD (100 BHP). There won't be a lot in it time wise. At the end of the day though the Mini is a modern classic, whilst the ZR, well, it's just a Rover 200 that crashed through Halfords window and picked up a few extra bits! ![]() |

| AWOL | I'm currently an MG ZR105 driver about to switch to a MCS, Having driven a ONE and my car (obviously!) i'd say theres very little between them, the driver alone would separate the two. I know that the ZR is an old car underneath but I've had great fun driving it over the last year (25,000 miles), it handles really well, and the engine although no rocket ship, certainly pulls well... I wouldnt have touched the ZR160 though, too expensive considering its a rover 200, i've also found bits fall off my ZR a bit too frequently !!!.... but saying all that I dont think theres any comparison between my current car and my soon to be delivered MCS !!!!... ![]() |

Offline | Thats right m8 Thats why the mini has been recalled umpteen times, my gf had a replacement along with at least half a dozen others on here and my rover with "halfords bits" hasn't been back to the garage once in 5 months ![]() |

Offline | Its the 1.4 105bhp model and your right there isn't a lot in it but mini seems slightly quicker top end. At the end of the day the new mini is hated by traditional mini owners everywhere and the ZR is a 1.4 that puts out more bhp and torque than your 1.6 chrysler cr@p one other thing, try crashing your mini through halfords window and see if sports suspension and 17" alloys fall into place, but you would never know cos your tin can would probably fall apart ![]() |

Offline | The MG ZR is great fun to drive, but it's let down by a poor driving position, indifferent build quality (much like the MINI) and the fact it's an ageing design. Just my two pence worth. G ![]() |

| Test thread infiltrator | Dunno... it was too far back in the rear view mirror I couldn't quite make it out ![]() In all honesty, the rover 25 did have a poor driving position and dodgy interior, but for its faults it drove quite well. The MG would be quicker if you used a standard 25 bodykit... food for thought... Dom |

Offline | Hey dom its cool not making fun just winding up monkeyboy. Monkeyboy why come on a mini site and talk about the zr obviously people are going to take the urine and as for link i will put good money that the people dissing the mini will be driving around in one in a few years. If you like the ZR then fine if its in gunmetal silver then hey nice colour but coming on and dising the mini is not on zr or mini we all know what you would pic. And the thing about classics i still get a reply of every classic i flash. So once you buy a mini come back and then you can make fun of the zr also har har har. Only joking. kev |
