Offline | Pre chip 0-60 I got my hands on a set of timming gear measured by GPS, last night to see what the car would do before I get it chiped. I did four runs and got a best time of 9.5 seconds which acording to autocar mag is only 0.2 slower than a cooper I will hopfully try to get the opperator to e-mail me the print outs so I can post them here rather than get them on paper I can't wait to get it chiped ![]() SOLD |

Offline | Where do things stand with a superchip and the warranty. I'm awaiting my Mini One, and the dealer I was chatting to seemed to think it wouldn't be a problem if I got it fitted by a BMW approved fitter. Personally I think he was bullsh*tting me. |

Offline | oooohhh........... I didn't think you could actually have the chip fitted by a BMW dealer - certainly the 'Superchips' authorised resellers I have spoken to in and around Kent (and MiniSport in Lancashire) were insistant that only they could program it - even when I told them outright I wanted to take the chip to BMW for programming. Presumably to do with the software the chip needs loading onto it? MINI Going.....Toyota Supra RZ-S Twin Turbo Coming....Standing Quarter, anyone....? |

Offline | FONTOL; you got your "... hands on a set of timing gear measured by GPS last night to see what the car would do ..." What kind of gear (manufacturer, capabilities, price, ...) is that? How does it hook up? Can you download to a computer? Is it accurate? What parameters will it record? Is there enough data to produce graphs, detail shift points, etc? I'm looking another G-Tech Pro but this sounds interesting. '02 MINI Cooper CVT (prod. date: 6/12/2002; Indi Blue/Black roof, R-81 7-hole 15x5.5" or NZO 16x6.5") '67 Austin Cooper S 1275 Mk1 (build date: 6/26/1967; Tartan Red/Black Roof, Minilite 10x4.5" or 10x6.0") |

Offline | I did a 0 - 60 a few days ago , without knowing this thread was running, and I was pleasantly surprised by a 9.5 secs. I know it wasn't accurate or scientific ,but it was far better than I anticipated. I'm not surprised Smiffy is getting in the eights as I wasn't as smooth or accurate as I could have been. Maybe someone can do it accurately. http://www.mini2.com/gallery/personal/index.php?gallery=Marts |

Offline | As far as I'm aware only one Motoring magazine has tested both the Cooper and the One. This is What Car? The times were as follows for 0-60 mph Cooper 8.6 seconds One 11.0 seconds These testers are professionals and they use accurate equipment for measuring both time and speed. |
