Offline | Mpg ? I am lucky to get 30-33MPG average from my standard Mini one, does anybody get better than this with mixed sensible driving ? I have yet to get the combined consumption quoted in the book... |

Offline | I get 33-35 with mixed town/open road driving. Not many people (if ever) manage to match the combined figure. On a long motorway run I got about 43mpg. I'm pretty happy with the fuel consumption. With my last car (1.25L - 85HP Punto) I was only getting about 37mpg. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

| Mini 2 Slap Head | Erm...guys..I dont know how or why but i am managing to consistantly get 36MPG out of a tank in my S. And before you suggest it, yes, that is a combination of enthusiastic driving and normal cruising (sticking to speed limits). Trip computer is usually 5% optimistic - even then 34.2MPG is still 1.2MPG above quoted. Sorry for crashing the ONE forum with an S post. Cheers guys ![]() |

Offline | My Cooper has returned 38.3, 38.6,38.9 on the last three tankfulls of Shell. And my computer has always been .5 to 2.5 MPG under reality with a pencil and paper at fillup time. I very please here in lovely Colorado. I live at 7000ft and often travel above that so in combined driving I am pretty happy with my car's current performace and MPG. Offline | MPG Yes, actually that is one US gallon. I am more than pleased with this figure. Now, to add to that I should point out that before turning 5000 miles on the odometer I had never done better than 37.3 but, it appears as the motor loosens up the mileage is improving. Also, I found this most recent increase followed the most recent BMW CCA autocross I attended. Great fun. Let my tank run to nearly the reserve light before the autox and then ran with the red light on all day. Just out of curiosity I had reset the mileage computer and found that during the autox, the Cooper was returning 34 MPG. Pretty impressive in my mind. 5500-6200 RPM all day in second gear. Good time was had by all and 6 of our group drive Cooper S models and outclassed the CS class of M3's. Scott Simms 1992 BMW 535i 1998 Isuzu Trooper 2003 MINI Cooper |

Offline | I don't have the trip computer so I don't know what the actual mpg is, but once I managed to get 201 miles out of a full tank (full to warning light coming on). I was quite impressed with that! I believe the correct term is 'spirited'. Normally average 300-330 miles from a full tank until the warning light comes on. This is mostly fast(ish) A roads. Offline | Did you mean 401 miles? My red light usually comes on at about 310 miles. I fill it until the petrol gun clicks out for the first time. Like I said before I get 33-35impMPG normally. KenL Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | Nope, really 201 miles from a full tank! I was really surprised. That said, this was in winter with the aircon on some of the time. There were also quite a few short journeys. Its never done it since. Had a 270 mile tank the other week, but I was doing a lot of stop start town driving. Offline | These numbers make me think that my Cooper is doing very well at 34mpg combined. That is about 2/3rds highway and a total of 3,550 miles. The last fill-up was today - a 1/2 tank of 100% city and I got 26. I don't think I'll ever get the city rated 28 but did get 39 for one tank of 100% highway while still in run-in. I have a long highway trip scheduled for tomorrow and Sunday, looking for BIG numbers on it. 2003 Cooper: VR/W, Black Cloth & Interior, Cold Pak, MFSW, DSC & OBC Mod: Clear Lens 3rd Brake, Stubby Antenna, Cocomats, Clean Visors, Minilite Wheels, CNC Pedals, Custom LED Tail Lights, DaLan Hitch w/Whalen Engraved Hitch Cover |

Offline | My One averaged 7.27 l / 100 km (38.8 MPG UK, 32.3 MPG US) over the 15 months I had it. The best I got out of it was 6.5 l / 100 km on holiday in France last June on empty N roads and motorway. |

Offline | Mpg My first MINI One had the 16' 5 star alloys, and with that I used to average high 30's and if I was on the motorway I would get low 40's mpg. My new MINI One has the 17's and I now average about 33-35 mpg around town and the highest I have ever got was 37mpg. I usually get about 320 miles from a tank ![]() If she's not smoking she broken! |

Offline | thanx for all your replies, looks like only a few lucky ones are achieving the official combined average so far. As for 7.9 MPG!!! Mine may well improve with mileage once she loosens up some more... thanx again for your feedback. |

Offline | Sorry to crash in here but I managed 352 miles on a tank )that needed 46 litres to fill up) with about 1700 miles on the clock (about two thirds motorway / one third London). My 2 cents spent... IT'S HERE... Cooper PS/B, chili, a/c, ASC&T, CD boost, Trip Comp, MFSW, SS+, 5 spoke 16" run-flats... and a full tank of petrol |
