Hiya my new mini mates.

I'm new to this forum and would just like to introduce myself. My names Pedro and I'm from Derby.

Ive just been totally inrational with my bank and treated myself to a new mini one. I cant wait. I orderd it beginning of march and my BMW dealership have told me it will be rdy for me by the end of July. does this sound right to you guys? I cant wait as this will be my first car ever as i only past my driving test last sept and been driving a freinds clapped out escort since then.

Plz, make yourself known to me, I'd love to share with you my spec and taste in a mini and hear as to what extras you have on yours.

The waiting part is hard mate but we all had to do it due to the fact that new mini's are so damn popular :-) My brother works at BMW hq in Bracknell and confirmed the lead time on new minis is indeed still 3-4 months.

nooo! have faith - I ordered mine last weekend (24 May) and they gave me a delivery mid to late September. They called me earlier this week and said it had moved forward to mid July. Hurrah!

Hello and welcome to MINI2. I too was new not so long ago. I have a One, take a look at my gallery for the specs and pics. Just to show off a bit (sorry) I just got new shark fin chrome side vents and chrome surrounds for the inlet vents below the windscreen. I think it looks great, but I am biased ;o) You're pretty close to me mate, I'm in Mansfield just up the A38.

Claire your a tease, well i hope you are anyway, I ve been onto my dealer and the estimated delivery date is still unchanged....except....they did offer to hold it untill september for the new plate. I 'm affraid i just cant wait that long.

Andy, I searched profiles under penfold but couldnt find your mini, could u post link plz?

whilst browsing at minis I stumbled across a mini that had the clear lenses fitted at the rear. Ive opted for these but have been told that legally I need to have reflective stripps on the rear of car somewhere by law. True?

If you have ordered your clear lights through your MINI dealer as part of your order, then they will be fitted and you will have a different rear skirt on your MINI and there will be two oblong reflectors on either side of your reversing light.

Ned Ive gone for silver with chrome body kit...I hope it works as i imagine it too.

plz!!! will somebody ask me for what the spec is on my mini?. lol. I feel the need to have to share this with someone that may be interested without me feel that I'm bragging.

And hiya booda...sorry i somehow missed your post. yer were neighbours practically.....I hope your mini's not in forest colours lol.

Take a look at the signature at the bottom of my post for the links to profiles and pics (you may have it turned off

) otherwise look here at my gallery.

Incidentally, you can also see the reflectors as required by law for use with clear light clusters. IMO they look OK with Chilli red but may spoil the looks with other colours.

cheerz for that andy. That rear skirt with the reflectors on is not something I've seen before but I imagine will be like mine as my lenses are coming straight from the factory allready fiited.

OK then pete, as your insisting in me sharing my spec with you here go's....

Silver Mini one

Chrome body kit
Chrome wing mirrors
16" 5 spoke alloys
clear lenses front and rear

Salt pack
Sports Seats Kaleido cloth
Chrome/silver interior
Alarm + Immobilsor
CD booster thingy

This of the top of my head is coming factory fitted.
if I can get the overtime in this month I will treat myself to a rear spoiler aswell.I wont rest untill i get one.

I maybe in for a slagging now but on top of that I've bought off the internet a Chrome petrol cap conversion kit( cooper S stylee)and some door handle cups.(thin plates that fit in the door well inside the door handles). I dont belive that this is going over the top and that will set my mini off beutifully.
I wont then be adding anything else to it.

Andy, whilst your lenses look wicked on chilli red, I'm hoping they will look subtle on silver. Youve got me thinking now......

your lenses will look better IMO. Last years MINI brochure featured a silver MINI with clear lenses and it looked the dogs (for want of a better expression). Silver with the chrome you've mentioned and clear lenses will look extremely good (though I can't make up my mind about chrome wing mirrors yet). In fact it's a combination I'd consider if spec'ing new.

Really look forward to seeing some pics.

I have now. Just seen a pic of a silver cooper with chrome mirrors and white bonnet stripes. Very, very nice.

Hello pedro,I myself are new to the mini forum so don't feel alone.I will take delivery of my new mini very soon 20th june, i orderd it on the 20th april 03 so in total 8wks wait.So the demand is getting bigger, like yourself i just can't wait but be paitent my friend
