Easy-entry system in mini one

Does anyone have problems with the Easy-entry system in the mini one?
Does this system work automatically, or do you have to push the seat forward with your bare hands?

You mean entry to the back seats? There is a lever on the side of the seat that has to be pushed down (I have to use the palm of my hand as it's quite hard to press). The seat folds and slides forward simultaneously. To reurn the seat to the upright position you have to push backwards. Again, I find this needs quite a lot of force. It's certainly not something my nine year old could do by herself, unless the mechanism loosens up with use. So, I don't know quite how 'easy' this is compared to other vehicles as my MINI is the first 2-door car I've had.

I think I heard somewhere that BMW are aware of the problem with the mini seats and may change them in the future - although dont quote me on that.

Sounds like it needs sorting, though I haven't noticed yet as I'm always driving! Good to here that MINI are on to it. Woops, I just completely ignored what you said!
