England I have just bought my first MINI !

Hello all - new member here,

I have just bought my first Mini One ! It is Indi Blue, 5 months old, 3500 miles on the clock, it has TLC, Salt Pack, manual aircon, Leather steering wheel, 7 hole alloys, heated jets and mirrors, tinted windows and a radio cassette with CD prep...I paid 10,950 so I suppose my first question is : is this a reasonable price for the car ? I think so, so I suppose that's all that matters....

My next questions are what should I be doing to look after my new baby correctly ?
Should I wait for the first service before getting an oil change or do it earlier ?
With the CD prep can I just buy a CD changer and plug it in ?
Does anyone know how much it is to add the chrome pack at this stage ?
How do I go about transferring the TLC - TLC is on the original invoice but should I register my ownership with Mini ?
Oh..can anyone reccommend the best dealership in Birmingham for servicing etc. ?

I'm sure I'll be posting more but I am excited to get driving !

Regards

Bolton

Congratulations and welcome to MINI2

Can't answer all your questions, but IMO (and I'm no expert) it seems a reasonable price if bought privately, pretty good price if from a dealer.

I bought mine as an ex-demo with 4k on the clock. I paid 50 quid and got an oil change at 5k to be safe, especially as it had been a demo and not sure how it had been driven. If it gives you peace of mind (as it did me) then get it done. It's not so expensive in the big scheme of MINI things (cheaper of course if you do it yourself).

I'm sure you'll get replies to your other questions, though you may want to post them seperately to more appropriate forums if you don't get a quick answer.

Enjoy your MINI!

Andy

First off all congratulations on the Mini and welcome to Mini2

The price seems resonable, was it a private buy??

1. To look after her i'd say general maintainace, oil, water etc.. every month or so and a regular wash an polish every now an then to protect the paintwork.

2. I changed my oil at 3k miles an it was pritty dirty so i'd change it if I was you, easy DIY job

3. With the CD changer prep you can just plug in a autochanger, the wiring is behind the right panel in the boot taped up. I bought the BMW autochanger as aftermarket ones needs a decoder box or summut (I was told this by the dealer and three well know car audio shops please correct if wrong)so it ruffly works out the same price as the BMW without the extra box. It fits perfect withe the bracket an all.

4. Dunno about the chrome pack probs about £100-150???

5. I dont think it matters transferring the TLC as it's just the vouchers the dealer wants.(please correct if wrong again

5. NO IDEA??

cheers for the replies so far...yes it was a private buy..
the car had been won in a raffle believe it or not ! sold on to the bloke I bought it off whose wife did not like it !

I will probably get the oil changed and I will look into the BMW CD changer...

Sounds like a good deal Bolton, nice ONE. I think i'd get the oil changed just for peace of mind more than anything else.

With the CD prep, you can go into Halfords and get the Sony 6 disc changer and adaptor, takes about 30 minutes to fit it yourself, dead easy.

Was a 1, now 1 of 150 in a 40
