Welcome to MINI2

Here's my opinion on your questions:-

Don't know about current waiting list.

White roof is available but you'll pay a high price for it according to other threads on a similar topic. £600 rings a bell.

As for your list,
I'd say try to get the Salt pack which includes rev counter and fogs and is potentially a useful option for resale. Alloys are quite easy to pick up cheap on this site as people regularly upgrade. 15" 8 spokes are often for sale for instance. Alarm is for peace of mind and a personal choice. Chrome exterior IMO looks better on certain colours but is quite easy to fit (I reckon) after you have the car - not sure how the price compares though Sports suspension - again a personal choice. I'd try to get a test drive in a One and a Cooper as that has the sports suspension as standard, then decide.

I'd suggest you also consider the leather steering wheel as it adds greatly to the driving pleasure over the standard wheel, for not much additional outlay.

Hope that helps,

Andy

I'd say get what u want - if u cant afford them all now either wait until u can or buy the parts now that would be difficult to add on later eg sports suspension, crome exterior etc...... things like wheels can always be put on later (may be cheaper too if you can find a decent set on mini2)

A Black One to a VX220 .. onto a 250bhp Focus RS . . . and now an 05 MCS

hello

just thought that i'd give you my take :

yep you can get a one with a white roof if you get it resprayed at the dealer, as i have with mine and i think if cost me £250-£300 and looks ace.

I've got sports suspension on mine, but have driven a one without and it rides much better. I wouldn't have it.

If you've got the cash have the pepper pack and that should give you the rev counter and fogs. Chrome isn't that much so you may as well have that too.

Finally alloys, i wouldn't have a car without them but they cost alot to buy and you got to think of the insurance to.

Have fun picking it

oh yeah - forget the alarm ! they can be trouble and don't do much to protect your car.

Hmmm. Having never driven another MINI I'm interested in your comment. How do you mean that it rides better without the sports suspension ? Do you mean comfort or handling or something else

Regarding the alarm, the MINI alarm is quite a simple design and appears reliable in my experience. I've yet to see any posts regarding it being 'trouble' but yes, alarms that have tilt sensors and movement detectors have n the past had a history of going off for no good reason. But like I said, the MINI one has been fine so far for me and it does offer another form of deterrent. Having an alarm fitted may also reduce your insurance premium . Just my thoughts.

I do agree with the other reply which basically said to make sure you get those options from new which may be a pig to add on later. MFSW, suspension, ASC etc. spring to mind.

1. I had to wait about a month for mine

2. You can get the roof painted for 200 quid easily, i've been quoted 240 with s/roof so ivolves extra masking etc....

3. Rev counter, for economy and taking it through the gears

Sport Suspension, excellent handles great and the ride isn't to harsh with 16" run flats

Alarm, piece of mind and insurance it basically cancelled my alloys out on my policy cost wise

Fogs, ermm dunno look the part, not a necessity just something nice to have pluis it give another toggle switch

Alloys, don't bother get em from here or go aftermarket

Chrome Line, up to you, depends on colour, but can easily retrofitted, just clip on

Have you considered the sports seats, bloody brilliant and comfy plus you get the different patter on the seats
and the Leather steerin wheel, nice touch to the car, i thought it was standard as all the demo cars have it on, soon as I found out I ditched the alloy trim for it

Get what you want, but don't forget sports seats and suspension
