There's a question on another forum about how to tell a Mini One from a Mini Cooper.

I'm wondering what characters the Mini One's have in their VIN's. The Mini Coopers start with
WMWRC3......, the Mini Cooper S's start with WMWRE3.....,
What're the 4th - 6th digits in the Mini One's and Mini D's?

I was playing around with the BMW VIN decoder
http://www.bmw-z1.com/VIN/VINdecode-e.cgi
and it appears that the vehicle code for the One is
RA3, and the 12th digit may be an A or B -
and for the One D, the vehicle code seems to be
RB1, and the 12th digit may be an F. Maybe someone
can confirm this. Wonder what the vehicle code for the
Open will be when it comes out.
