Offline | Idle curiosity Out of idle curiosity - what upgrades would be involved in 'doing-up' a Mini One in order for it to be classed as a Cooper? ...and yes before you say it - i realise it could be cheaper and quicker to just buy a Cooper to begin with but for initial insurance policy concerns..... 2004 IB/IB MINI |

Offline | If you had ordered your ONE with chrome pack then it would have looked pretty much like a Cooper. You can retro-fit these bits. Don't see the point though - be proud of your ONE ![]() Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | Suprisingly little needs to be added to a One to make it look like a Cooper. On some MINI meets it's often easy to think that you are looking at a Cooper from the front and side profiles. So many Ones have the chrome pack and even a few have fitted spoilers, exhaust can finisher and the chrome bootlid. There's always the giveaway for us nerds - the roof colour (for older cars) and the interior seat fabric. (although leather can be confusing). Inversely I see some basic Coopers with 7 hole or 8 spoke alloys that look like Ones. And am I correct in thinking that the Cooper comes with sports suspension? There is just one moon and one golden sun; And a smile mean friendship to ev'ryone; Through the mountains divide, and the oceans are wide; It's a small world after all. |

Offline | My MINI is a One but I added a few options to Cooperise it: 16" 5-star alloys. Chrome Line Exterior Pack (which includes the bumper inserts, grill, lower mesh, boot handle and Cooper exhaust trim now). Chrome mirror housings. Delete 'ONE' badge. It's also in black so combats the whole 'white roof' issue. The only giveaway now is the chrome 'One' door treads. Have a look at it in my gallery: http://www.mini2.com/gallery/personal/picture25915.html |

Offline | well I had a ONE (tiger stripe silver!) Limited edition only available of Feb, March 03 Builds!! I am currently driving arround in a cooper and honestly can not tell the difference between it and my old ONE. some reports say that a chipped ONE feels quicker than a standard cooper! to answer your question - i would add chrome grill, tailgate etc and exhaust trim and you got a cooper! (you dont need to have a white roof as this is only a free option on a cooper) |
