| MINI2 Master | New Member (expecting my baby for May!!) Hi, After being a HUGE fan of the mini since it's launch, and wishing I'd win the lottery to own one (being a 19yr old full time student an all ) I am beyond happiness in announcing I will be joining the world of mini owners in 3months time! The order has been placed........pure black mini one. I can't wait! Finalising some details such as wheels (would really appreciate some suggestions), chrome, cd and spoiler on Sunday. I didn't think I'd get one............just shows that hard work and over-time can pay off lol! Enjoying reading the posts so far. Veronica |

Offline | Hi Veronica Welcome to MINI2, and congratulations on the order - I know how exciting it is! ![]() As for wheels, you must get alloys - these just finish the car off nicely. If you're not too fussed about big alloys, I'd go to the 15" R82s. These are nice wheels and will improve the car's overall appearance by a huge amount. One thing I regret not getting on my MINI One is the chrome line exterior option, so I'd definitely go for this. I believe this now includes the chrome front grill and mesh, chrome bumper inserts, chrome tailpipe, and chrome boot handle. This is an absolute must at £150. The only other item you may want to consider under the "chrome" category is the chrome mirror covers at £40 (if factory-fitted). Personally, I think they're a little over the top, but many many people on here like them, so the choice is yours! Have a search and you'll find lots of pictures if you haven't seen them before. CD player - if you're into aftermarket audio, then just go with the standard WAVE Tape and change it yourself. Otherwise, go with the BOOST CD. Aftermarket is probably the better option in terms of what you get for your money, but then the look of the MINI CD player fits in nicely with the interior. Another option is to go with the WAVE Tape and watch the 'For Sale' section here on MINI2 and eBay - people often sell their BOOST CD and they seem to go for around £100. Spoiler - again, it's a must. You'll kick yourself if you don't get it factory-fitted while you have the chance! ![]() I hope this helps, and I look forward to seeing the outcome ![]() |

Offline | I'm not too sure about this one. They probably would, but then the labour charge is very high, so it would make more sense to do it yourself. Also, the parts needed to fit an aftermarket unit (i.e. fascia adapter, harness adapter, aerial adapter) will probably be more expensive from MINI. |

| MINI2 Master | Cheers for your reply. I couldn't agree more with you......I am a fan for the chrome, and IMO if you get the chrome, then you have to get the spoiler. The wheels are most definitely the next important decision I make. They have to be 'just right', and will make the car. I have a decent cd player in my exisiting car, and wasn't sure whether this would be transferable to the mini. Is it something mini could do for me (fit it........preferable FOC lol!). How much are spoilers going for these days? (I was shocked to hear the increased price from £270 to £350 for the salt pack) Veronica |

Offline | The CD player is transferable. I've got an Alpine headunit in my One that I installed last week. As I said before, MINI probably will do it for you but at a price, so it might be worth finding out the cost from your dealer. It's fairly straightforward to do yourself though. See www.newministuff.co.uk for DIY instructions and you can also purchase the fitting kit here. I believe the spoiler is £100 factory-fitted. Are you going for the Salt package? |

Offline | The reason I ask is regarding the rev. counter. Veronica, if you don't go for the Salt package, make sure you order the rev. counter - as I'm sure everyone will agree, this is yet another must ![]() |

Offline | Hello! I get my mini indi blue one in about a months time I haven't got the salt pack. I have ordered quite a few extras but there was hardly anything in the salt pack I would have chosen. I have got the rev counter (not sure about it at first but now think it looks funny without), the storage package (otherwise you only get a shelf instead of a glove box), sports seats (improve comfort lots), 15" wheels (wanted alloys and these were in my budget), chrome line (looks really smart!), CD player / boost, alarm and TLC. Everyone has their own preference though, that's why mini's are so unique! Enjoy ![]() Little Blue One |

Offline | Hi Veronica - and congratulations from us as well! I've got a black One with the chrome pack, chrome mirrors and 16" 5-star alloys: I would recommend the salt pack, but the rev counter (aftermarket) is £115 and I replaced my Salt-pack carpet mats with the rubber ones (£25). I went for the salt pack but kept the anthracite interior - i reckon it works a lot better with the black exterior. The Boost+CD is fantastic (although can be prone to jumping on some roads due to the sportiness of the standard suspension!). I would also recommend upgrading to a leather steering wheel - much nicer than the plastic one! All the best of luck and enjoy it! |

Offline | Rev counter should be £50 when factory fitted, cost a lot more to add it on after. Matts are more practical in rubber, £25 for front pair, £13.99 rear pair. ![]() Little Blue One |
