Offline | well, got a phonecall earlier this week, 'you're reg plates are in' Oh...and? i said 'well, that means you're car will be here in 2-3 days' wow i replied, great news. Got my insurance all sorted, waited, waited, waited. Went up yesterday..'cars not here yet, but will be delivered tonight' great i thought. Got a phonecall this morning to say my car was delivered last night and was sitting in the compound, and that the dealer (whos really sound) was going to check it out this afternoon and then give me a call. Waited untill about 4:30pm, then rang them...he was busy he'll phone u back. Ok... 5:00pm, 5:15pm...right *** it, lets go up. Phone rang just as i was leaving the house. 'Hello, dealer here, you're car is the right colour etc, but i have some bad news ???!!!????!! erm...ok. 'it hasn't got ASC + T on, but u requested it' well, the traction controll i can live without in all honesty, but one less switch than is supposed to be would just look odd! 'ok, we can fit u a blank switch' ok fine, but when can i pick it up? 'next wed...or so' bloody marvlous, been waiting round for the past week or so like a nonce, and have to wait around longer for somthing that isnt exactly how i order'd. great. Like i say, not really bothered about the ASC + T, as id rather have it without and now than May and with, and leave them with a 12k car lying around. It's just the waiting around thats 1. not only causing me serious mental harm, but 2. Wasting a few days off my insurance Never mind, just thought i'd share the rant. Also, what exactly do they do at the dealers to warrent a 4 day wait? Do they fit the alloys, or are they done at factory level? |

Offline | While I am sure it COULD be done, the toggle bank is all more or less built in to that one part, so you're better off replacing the panel with a new one with a full bak of toggles. There aint no party like my nana's tea party |

Offline | not liable to say :P just incase. Never mind, got a phonecall today to say i can go see it, just gonna use the 100quid saved on ASC + T get some body stripes, which the dealer said they'd only charge me 50quid. Better order my black and white union jack roof decal then. Bonus. |

Offline | I think you should be a little firmer with your dealer, the ASC+T is an important safety feature (which you can switch off if you wish) and should not be dismissed lightly. You should stress to your dealer how disappointed you are with its omission and bonnet stripes at any price is not fair compensation. Good luck with the car anyway and don't let this incident spoil your enjoyment. |

Offline | i am getting quite afew things for free tho. £100 off the initial agreed price to make it more feesable to my budget. Alloy patina dash interior, rubber floor mats and a few other tidbits, including a full tank of petrol. like i say, not particularly bothered about the ASC + T because most other cars dont have such a feature. The one im driving at the minute doesn't and i feel perfectly happy driving that old banger. |

Offline | Asc +t My Traction control has paid for itself twice in the 22 days Ive had my car. If I was you I would go nuts at my dealer, esp. seeing as you can disable the ASC if you dont want it on all the time, however, as said below, it is an important saftey feature and I personally would not be without it. Sometimes you get carried away with the handling and the Traction Control really makes a difference, i would see if the dealer can get it put on maybe and give him grief ![]() MINI - Its so much better than you can imagine! |

Offline | Didn't buy my mini from Mill, got it from Fawdingtons, but I've been to Mill since for my mini and my sisters BMW Z4 and I'm very impressed with their service, they are top notch. I'll be going there for my first oil change and service, not Fawdingtons who wouldn't even give me free rubber mats. (It's Fawdingtons in general that has poor customer care, not the sales people, Emma was really helpful and friendly, but she can only do what her employer lets her!) Hopefully I'll get more outta Mill! |

Offline | thanks for the words of wisdom. Nothing i can do about ASC + T now though, but as u say, having it as an option to have on or not would be handy, never mind thou, just can't rev it much when pulling away in the wet :P. I could've had another car built with it in, but wouldn't have had it till may. Is it really worth a 2 month wait...not in my book. like i say, i have already kicked up a fuss about it, no doubt i can try and play the ' ![]() ![]() ![]() ed off customer' a bit more and end up with a few more freebies. As for the alloy patina jason, i presume it's done, as i did ask for it...and the dealer didn't say anything about it being missing. Knowing my luck though, it'l have been missed off. |

Offline | Ive dealt with Fawdingtons and theyve been great so far. Went to Mill and got looked down upon, quoted ridiculous prices, e.g my payment per month was £60 more!! Hope collection goes well, if i recall you ordered yours at a similar time to mine (remembered because i was asking similar q's on here at the same time about same dealers!!) so hopefully i should get some news any day now. Out of interest has it came any earlier than expected? Youv'e got me cacking myself thinking they'll forget one of my extras now!!!!! |

Offline | yer...its came about 2 weeks early overall, because it was here last friday. took some piccys 2day. Dealer also said he would fit my stereo for me as more compensation for the mix up. Has been very apologetic about it, and very good about fitting the new switches etc. Not long now, wednesday aparently. Heres a pic for now. Still in its wuvly wrapping. EDIT: took pic off, too big ![]() . Last edited by MaTTy_P : Mar 25th, 2004 at 12:07 AM. |

Offline | Matty, I'd be screaming about it being left out in the rain. My dealer showed me where mine was being kept until delivery time - in it's own booth with a car cover in a warehouse opposite their showrooms. The car wasn't exposed to the outside elements at all before delivery (dockside coming into the country may have been different!) and was definitely not left outside in front of the dealer. After all you have gone through, it's the least they could do. Hope you get everything fixed and delivered on time. Dutchy. Sadly INIMINI is gone, but never forgotten. |

Offline | gets better still. got a phonecall today, stating that they can fit the new switches...but it has to be a brand new full bank...and costs £200???!!!??? thier doing it for free tho, getting my bonet stripes thrown in and a 20pound charge for fitting my cd player, rather than the 38 i was quoted. Still, good news, i can take delivery tomorrow at 4pm, then it has to go back in for the new bank of switches when they arrive. Never mind, im getting all this in writing by the way, just incase after i've accepted it all, they turn around and fob me off. As for the rain...not bothered, it was the only time i could've seen it before actuall collection day, and had waited around for an hour while the dealer delt with yet another awkward customer. I'll post some pics tomorrow after delivery. |

Offline | Hope everything goes well tommorrow, your in Billy Mill ar'nt you? I may have to pop round. same colour as ' old 4 spots'. Tell Andrew to throw some a roof decal in as a freebie or me and Daz wont be getting Works. Actually Priory are very good even replaced my clutch thru warrenty. As for the toggle bank divide the BMW price by half minus your age and add the number of penises you own and thats the right figure - Or just go to Minispares. If you're after bonnett stripes get them to fit em as there an absolute bugger to put on and well worth someone elses labour. If you want some John Cooper signatures for the bonnett stripes let me know - got some spare somewhere. Good luck. |

Offline | cheers m8. Yer think its the same as ur old '4 spots' like i say, theyve been very good regarding the factory error, it wasnt actually the dealers fault, cos it was on the invoice. At least thier fitting the full bank of switches, stripes and a discount on my cd player fitting, aswell as the floor mats thier supposed to be putting in. We shall see. Cant wait till later though. Already orderd my roof graphic, a custom white union jack with the black roof, looks champion. ![]() cant wait. |
