Offline | Hi, finally managed to get on to the forum posting section after several weeks of trying!! My computer says that I am logged on but then does not seem to "remember" when I try to post!!! Anyway! Have ordered my new mini one now several weeks ago, but cant decide on the colour! I have ordered Black, but really like the white. Does anyone think that the residual values of the white will be any different? Also, I dont use the car in the week really, but I am an obsessive cleaner, literally polish the car everytime it is washed! Do people think that the black will look tatty eventually? And advise greatly received! Full spec AC manual Pepper pack Chrome interior Single CD Radio Boost Harmon Kardon 3 Spoke steering wheel Chrome mirrors And at the moment Black!!! |

Offline | Welcome to MINI2! Black is good (not that I'm biased or anything!). That said, I really like pepper white too, and if I were in your position, I'd have a difficult decision to make! I don't think that there would be much difference in value to be honest. I would suggest that you conduct an advanced member search at http://www.mini2.com/forum/memberlist.php?do=search. That way, you can decide whether you prefer black or pepper white. At the end of the day, it has to be what you like and not other people! I hope this helps, and welcome once again! |

Offline | Good idea, Sebby. I think looking at lots of pics will help. Here's what I recommend -- finding some good ones of all the colors you are considering. Then, walk away for a little. Then come back, and see which one grabs you the most. That's the one! BTW -- I have Pepper White, and I get a lot of compliments on it at (informal) car shows, etc. ![]() Look at that little S car go! [Sold 2/06] |

| BEP Owner | I saw a Pepper White with Black racing stripes and a chequer board roof a few days ago and that looked outstandingly lovely.... Its sooo difficult to choose - we all go through this dilemma - !!! Good luck and enjoy looking at all the MINI pics while you decide... |

Offline | i had EXACTLY the same dilemma i had when ordering. I orginally fancied the pepper white, above the black, then i saw both in the flesh at my mini dealers, and was struck by how nice black looks when clean. (*not that pepper white doesnt )Basically, the colours you have chosen are the hardest to clean, wether you like it or not. My advice like I tell everyone when choosing, go with what you're heart tells you. |

| Sergeant Pepper | pepper white. pepper white does look cool with bonnet stripes and a black roof. ive got a p/w one on order and the dealer is spraying the roof black..albeit at a cost of over 700 inc. mirror caps and spoiler painting.. pretty excessive. My mates getting the negative of what i have so should look pretty cool side by side. ![]() |

Offline | I'm positioned to comment cos my first MINI ONE was Solid Black(2003)and my current MINI ONE(3 weeks old) is Pepper White.I love the black when it is clean and in the right light.I think there may have been a problem with the laquer on my black MINI cos even rubbing your finger over the paint would scratch it.After cleaning my black MINI it looked fantastic and especially in the evening light, then the morning after youv'e cleaned it you catch a glimpse of it in direct sunlight and you think 'where did all those marks and swirls come from'.I think when the black and the white are both immaculately clean the black does look slightly better but on an everyday basis and from a cleaning point of view the white wins for me.With black i had to wash car,dry car,Meguiars scratch x car,Meguiars wax the car. With white ,if i wanted i only need to wash the car and it looks fine and doesn't show the water spots.Just my opinion, but if you do love to clean as much as you say you do then black will do nicely ![]() |

Offline | Black ![]() You will enjoy cleaning it, as you drive off you will find all the spots that collect the water when you think you've dried it, they will stain, then you can clean it again ![]() Was a 1, now 1 of 150 in a 40 |
