| Sergeant Pepper | V. Silly question.. newbie alert.. uh..v. dumb question, i want to put a K&N filter on my one.. fine so far.. only problem is..where is the orginal air filter on the One (2005)? ive had a look under the hood and alls i can see is plastic coated this that and the other. I have a sneaky suspicion that its located under the battery, where a large pipe feeds into it..seemedly from the front grille's direction..but please..please correct me if i'm wrong...also how easy is it for a mechanic, like me with the skills of a cabbage to fit said filter d'air. Thankie in advance. |

Offline | Hi! The K&N panel air filter is an easy mod. I've atteched the picture of the engine bay, with the air filter circled. All it requires is the lid removed, and replace the jubilee clip - there's one supplied with the clip - to the large hose. Replace the lid with the new filter, and rubber gasket inside, and tighten up the jubilee clip. Obviously follow the instructions with the kit, but thats a quick rough guide. Good Luck! |

Offline | Hi r34ver. Satelite has said it all really. I fitted a K&N panel filter around 10 months ago now, and it's a very easy modification, and a worthwhile one IMO. It takes 5-10 minutes, and the instructions come with the filter. But it's so simple anyway. I'm don't know that much about cars, and it was no problem for me. Have a look in my gallery for pictures of the airbox with the lid off, housing both the old filter and the new K&N filter. |

| Sergeant Pepper | yeah, its worth the money, and its worth the money, if you know what i mean, the eye candiness is worth the capital outlay and you should get some money back when you come to sell it so, its winners all round.plus..did i mention it looks damn hot, specially on Black. |

Offline | Yeah, well that's what I was thinking. As it's genuine, it should make the car worth more, not less. It does look damn hot on black, but I must say, and I'm being deadly honest here, I think it looks the absolute best on pepper white! ![]() |

| Sergeant Pepper | yeha, putting the inferior kits on, i thing spoils the look of the car, if they're not done properly that is, e.g in this months Go Mini, there is a v. nice black one, but a poorly done red and white one in the bodykit section. The aero kit does look the dogs nuts on pepper white.. http://www.mini2.com/gallery/personal/picture44504.html look at that one there, i found that in personal galleries in the months leading upto the delivery of my car. I think that car actually persuaded me to go Pepper White actually.. |

Offline | I've just had a thought. Am I right in thinking that the air filter is slightly different on new models (I believe it was changed so that the cabrio and normal models are the same)? If I am right, the filter is in the same place, but is a different shape, and I don't think that K&N make for the facelift model yet. r34ver - compare your air filter housing to the one posted by Satelite. Is it exactly the same, or different? |
