Offline | Countdown he guys, Every mini owner knows that when you start the car, the miles until the next service are displayed in the mileage counter. When i picked it up at the dealer it showed 18.000 kilometers. I drove it for 700km now, and the display shows 15.500km. Hmm, 18.000 minus 700 = 17.300. The dealer told me to take it easy but he also said you could easily rev up to 6500 as long as the engine was warm, and so i did. Is 15.500 something to worry about, should I drive it easier or is it nothing to worry about. Thnx ![]() Proud owner of a new 2005 BRG Mini One ![]() Not to mention the 128BHP chiptuning |

Offline | I hope you weren't offended,i was only joking.I had the same thing on my first MINI that ended up having its first service at 7500 miles instead of the 10,000 which i thought it would.I suppose it depends on how you are driving but that does seem quite a chunk to lose in a few km's.MY Sept 04 isn't loosing miles at the same rate that my Jan 03 did. ![]() |

Offline | Hi zyo, haha no I knew you were just joking Today I drove it for 30kilometers and now it showed 15.200..... I started to change my driving style because off it 2500rpm --> shift --> 2500rpm --> shift etcetc Lets wait if that changes anything. I did drove it hard because I really don't wanted to end up with a lazy car. I have to say, it's quick now ![]() Proud owner of a new 2005 BRG Mini One ![]() Not to mention the 128BHP chiptuning |

Offline | It really does depend on your driving style. It's an intelligent system. I've literally today had my first service after slightly more than 1 year and nearly 9000 miles. |

| Nice TTs......... | Shorter journeys, multiple cold starts etc will make the car think thats what its life is going to be like - if you mix in a lot of long runs, it will get a different picture of things - long runs are easier on the engine, hence wear is less, hence service intervals can be longer............ ![]() ![]() Global Moderator |
