![]() Pirates in my ear | Quack Quack Jack Some of you may be familiar with the adventures of a duckie named Quack Quack Jack. He's travelled around the US and Canada as a tribute to the motoring spirit of our good friend Ed "Maxamini" Smith. This year, Ruthie will be making the trek across the Pond to attend the Charity Ball with all of you. We thought it would be neat if Quack Quack Jack could make the trip, too. As we speak, he's on a UPS truck making his way to the airport. I sent him along with a MINI Motoring Journal. I thought it would be neat if everyone if could sign it. Even better, though, would be if you could bring a picture with you to attach to the journal. We'd love to put some faces to the names. I'm assuming there'll be some pictures posted after the event, and I'll print out some of those to put in the journal as well. When Ruthie brings it back over here, I'll present it to Ed's lovely wife, Mart. Thanks so much for your help! Have a great time! ![]() |

Online | QQJ started out in Rochester NY, he acquired the dashing checkered (or chequered) tie at the Vintage Races at Watkins Glen racetrack, and then he set off cross country to the US west coast with Franz & Mary King. He visited Hawaii with Amy (NinerCat), went to Newfoundland with NoNo & the crew, and we'll have some plans for him to visit Minis On Top this year (to take a picture at the summit like Ed did last year), and then he's setting off to Alaska. I'm hoping to give the journals to Mart at Minis On Top this year, and then start a new one for his next year of adventures! Ine thread I started for him is in the New York/New England forum, called "Where in the World Is Quack Quack Jack?" http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=100676 More in "adventures With Duckie" in OT&B http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...=66889&page=20 We hope everyone has a great time at the Ball! Thanks to everyone who takes him under your wing. ![]() ![]() |

Online | I should have gotten a picture of Charlie in Watkins Glen, he is the classic Mini owner from Philly who sat in the bleachers behind Rick & Laurie & asked 'is the duck for Ed?' He had ben following the story on NEMINI, and I had a plan to met up with him there. It was a great 'small world' story, and another tribute to the magic of Ed. ![]() |
