| Awwww %%%% it! | You guys made it - sincere thanks While it may have been Sham and myself standing up and fronting the Ball the evening would never have happened without a massive input from other organisers, generosity of sponsors and some emergency ad-hoc assistance on Saturday. Some folks deserve a special mention , and if I've missed anybody then hit me please Lorraine, Stephen (Cy Wong) and Dora were regular visitors to the planning meetings helping with the overall event organisation, also assisted by Paul M. Brummie for planning the Run and Karl for leading it In the ensuing chaos that was Saturday - for those not aware when we arrived to set up everything we found there were no tables set up, no decoratinos ready, nothing at all just a big empty room and further more no hotel staff on hand and that none were expected until 3.00pm Then to just add the icing on the cake the doors were too narrow to get the MINIs through despite previous assurances that they'd had Aston Martins in there !! There was a group of folks that instead of spending their afternoon relaxing enjoying and the facilities they got stuck in and set up the room. So a special thankyou to ..... Sharon ( Mrs Sham), Lorrie & Steve, Jackie (Minnie) and Gary , Andy ( mini-moocher) & Karen, Ray (RVW) and Gail and my good lady Jackie for making it happen After some restructuring of the hotel entrance facilities ( the doors and door frame were still outside in the snow when we left on Sunday ) the MINIs came in at last, thanks to Fevs for providing the ramps, Pobsey for his Russ Swift two wheel driving (and Anand for guiding the car in ) Also to Paul M and Lewis for setting up the PC and webcam There were also a number of other folks flitting in and out and assisting in general so a big thank you to them. In the bar just before we all sat down Hat came up to me and send "Wow, the room looks excellent, well done" ........... well that was down to you guys so a massive thankyou from all of us involved with the Ball organisation - top people all of you, and proud to have you as friends ![]() |

Offline | Ray was a bit like a military photographer - always at the scene of the action, documenting as he went along! ![]() Top thanks to everyone for mucking in. We were on the verge of losing to the duty manager at Shrigley but we got them to take apart that doorframe in the end .170508 ![]() |

Offline | Bob and all the other organisers, I think I speak for everyone who was there on Saturday, without you all we would not have been there as there just would not have been a Ball last year or this! Many, many thanks for all the hours, and I know there were many hours put in by you all. Many thanks to Dora who I know also put a lot into this too...not sure if she will read this or not but I hope she will! Can we have another one next year please?! ![]() |

Offline | So, I take it that if you guys had been in the Twin Towers on 9/11, you would not have respected the drywall keeping you trapped in your office?? My kind of guys, good work. ![]() ![]() |
