Next time we have a Ball

just chucking some questions around for views/opinions, one for now, maybe more will appear ........

1) A more "glam" location and venue seemed a common view on the feedback thread but........... these will cost more including more for the accomodation etc How much would you be willing to pay for a B&B for two, bearing in mind you'll also benefit from improved facilities in the room and hotel in general ? £80, £100, £120, £150, £175 .......

I'm with Buttons on the £100 mark as costs can easily add up by the end of the trip/day/weekend

I think £100 for the B&B is about right, considering the other costs associated with coming to a ball. (And I'm ignoring flights and car rental here since that's only a problem for a minority of us ) The quality of the room itself isn't the main worry for me - as long as the bed is reasonably comfortable and the shower works

room?? didn't see much of it this year, I want more drinks in the bar, guinness for a start, and a bigger late night sandwich list to order from, or even a kebab shop right out side the hotel

Its only a forum you know!

£100 max... but depending which hotel is chosen there may be a cheaper option close by for those on a budget?

I think £100 is a reasonable amount! I agree with Lorraine that some may not wish to pay that so perhaps a reasonable B & B that is near to the venue would also be good too for those too.

Yes I would agree with the £100.00 figure
Although could you not just pay for breakfast as a fair few never got the full use out of their beds this time round

I suppose you needn't book a room at all - just stay in the bar until breakfast, as long as you've got one person with a room tab then you're sorted

£100 seems the general concensus, thanks for the feedback.

if theres going to be a friday night aswell as the saturday then £100 a night IMHO is too expensive. stick to the £60 a night price.

Quite often these places do a two night special so we'll check that out.

We'll not get a £60 a night unless we manage some superb negotiations on terms or revert back to the likes of the Moathouse, which is the main issue really - folks want a more glam set up, but it costs more !

A preference might well have been expressed for a "more glamorous" venue. However, that might mean that the organisers did such a fine job last time that next time they want more glamour but not necessarily more cost.

100 quid for a room 26 quid a ticket for the meal is getting mighty expensive. The venue was shifted from London to the Moat House in the first place because it couldn't attract the numbers. Now second time around it is an easier sell because we all had a great time, but the bottom line is, it will price a lot of people out of coming if it goes too dear. The beauty of the mini is that it is a classless car, this should be remembered when planning the next ball. Glamour and style can be open to everyone, but if it is too dear, the door to the party will be closed to many - and on the back of this year's success, next year's event should be bigger not smaller.
