United-States Evenflo Triumph 5 installs?

Hello!!
My wife and I are looking to purchase a Mini sometime in November and were wondering if any other parents out there have installed the Triumph 5 into their Minis. Any insite would be great!
Cheers!

JON

Sorry to respond so late but I'm pretty sure I tried fitting a Titian 5 in my MINI and there was a problem with the quick-tightening knob in the "rear facing" mode being so large that it dug into the sidewall of the seat and made fitting it impossible.

I know it is a well rated seat but it is also very heavy and at least rear facing just does not fit...sorry.

I might recommend the Britax "Roundabout" costs quite a bit but it fits (barely).

John-
Sorry I didn't see your post before. My wife and I have a Triumph 5 we use in my mini, but I will say that it is only in the forward facing direction. I think in general rear facing is hard in a Mini, but can be a real pain with the Triumph 5 as it is so large. The quick release knobs are a great selling point, but I gotta say I never really used them after the first month or so.

I will say we test drove a convertible S and had to place my son's seat rear facing at that time. It worked great with the top down as it was easy to set him down into it. But with ordering a hardtop, I would look to a different seat. Maybe something no so wide or with such high bolsters. That being said, don't let having a infant stop you from getting your mini, it can work, just takes prudent planning and a love of the car enough to offset the small headaches.

Over here in the USA I have a Evenflo TRIUMPH convertible, I don't know if it's the same, but fits in just fine, using the LATCH (isofix) and a rolled up towel under the back of the base. My 2 y/o seems more comfortable than when that seat was in the Passat.

TESTED the Triumph by being rear ended by a City Bus at traffic light. A very safe seat, I will rethink the stroller strapped behind my seat tight to the headrest rails. My seat broke and flew froward and banged me a bit in the head with the headrest. Daughter was just fine, by the grace of God, in her car seat.
