Rear facing/Front facing Question (Paging Rakey)

OK we have been using our second stage Brittax seat in the "rear-facing" mode until now and I am well inclined to continue in this fashion (as I understand it is safer) but the little man continues to grow a pace...and is now 27.5lbs @15 months and quite tall.

And the "problem" is Spylet's legs can't really stretch out fully. Not that he is highy cramped...but if it was only a matter of comfort to consider now would be the time to change the seat to front facing.

But before I do anything I thought I'd run it past Uncle Martin....what do you think?

Our youngest is 12 months, and in a forward facing seat, but IIRC, it all depends on the weight of Spylet. Most seat manufacturers will recommend seats on weight of the child. As Leilah is a bruiser, shes been ina forward facing seat for 2 months

hard to call, I understand where you are coming from Bill, yes it is the safest way for a child to travel in the rearward facing position, some countries actually do this up to ages of 6 or even 10.

But the main thing I would say is that your seat is tested and designed for your country and with weight tolerances facing certain directions.

I would have a look at the seats recommendations if I was you, and go with what position they say Spylet should be facing at his weight.

Weight is the most important thing on Car Seats, not how comfortable the kiddy looks, or what other people recommend. At the end of the day the seat is designed to do specific jobs in certain positions, and all is tested with weighted crash tests

Hope this helps Bill
