Finally found a child seat that fits really well

As the subject says we have finally found a child seat that really fits our MCS really well - you could tie a battleship to it and this is, even without ISOFIX.

It's a Concord Ultimax (I'd never heard of Concord) and compared to our group 0 mamas & papas it's fantastically solid. It does birth to 4 years because it will rear and forward face - if it had been available a year ago it would have saved us from the whole upgrade ordeal. Plus it doesn't need the bolster and anti-slip mat that the mamas & papas one did. And we can rear face it fro and extra 6 months (Up to 13kg).

Give it a try if you're looking for group 0 or 1 at the moment. With this and the Quinny Zapp I reckon I can defend my mini as a practical (ish) family car for a while longer yet.

Sorry to sound all evangelical but I'm very pleased with it.

I have an Eddie Bauer brand car seat over on this side of the pond - I swap it from the mini to the Rendezvous for the rare occasion we take the beast out for a shopping trip. The latch anchoring system holds it down firmly, and it's surprisingly easy to install.

BTW, my 2 year old loves the "zoom-zoom mini coopah"

We have a EVENFLO, Triumph Convertble seat that we brought over from the Passat, fits fine. I also have a nice brand, BABY TREND, folding travel stroller that doesn't fit length ways in the boot area. I have it now right behind the drivers seat lengthwise to the floor and cinched down very tight at the top to my headrest rails with a marine battery tie down strap. It doesn't move about, will stay put in anything but a roll over ( and maybe even, GOD forbid, in one of those ), and we lose that rear seat, but can still leave the rear seat folded up or can put it down. It's just the 3 of us or maybe the dog, but she doesn't need a foot well space, so we can seat 2 adults, my daughter and the cocker spaniel and the boot is empty. I leave the stroller in 24/7 that way. Seems to work well. Still probably going to have to install a roof rack, so we can travel with luggage and the big stroller.

United-Kingdom bolster/anti-slip mat query

Hi,

Can you please tell me more about the bolster/anti-slip mat you had to use with your mamas and papas seat - we've been told about something like this as being needed to fit a Maxi-Cosi Tobi seat but can't find out what it's called on the market or where to get one (not sure how to add a link to my post on the subject, but my second post on this site raised the query)

Cheers,
TT

Bolster and anti-slip mat

Hello

We use an anti slip mat and bolster made by Sunshine kids - it helped our old mamas & papas baby seat sit better in the mini. A link I found is:

Sunshine Kids Sit Rite

Having said that we would never have bought the mamas & papas if our new baby seat had existed at the time (see my earlier post at the beginning of this thread) which does not need the bolster and is much more secure.
