Offline | MINI carseat? I KNOW that I've seen a MINI branded carseat over the past months of scouring the web for all things MINI. Can anyone point me to a URL or any info on a MINI carseat. I could swear I saw three models available: rear facing for infants, two different front facing ones. Any help appreciated. ![]() 2003 Dark Silver / Black Cooper S Black Leatherette, Anthracite Trim, Premium / Sport / Cold Packages, HK Stereo, Auto Wipers / Mirror Visit My MINI Site |

Offline | Yup - there's the 0+ baby carrier (rear facing), one for 9mths to about 4yrs (forwards facing, with a big support accross the front), and one for the 4-11 year-olds (which can be used just as a booster cushion later on). Ages are approximate (and notoriously optimistic, a practice common in the child seat business apparently. All three are best used in the rear (there are some well-known safety issues about babies and front-seat airbags). All three SHOULD be available in strap-in or ISOFIX versions. I say SHOULD - just because I spent the money on the ISOFIX brackets the blooming baby carrier isn't available now I need it. ![]() I can dig out the catalogue numbers if it helps .... Ordered my "S" August '01. Arrived July '02. EB with white roof, wheels and stripes, Chili pack, DSC and climate control. Hate those 17" runflats though. Can now be seen all over the West Midlands, as a blue blur passing everything at speed |

Offline | Thinking about it, MINI almost certainly DONT make the seats themselves (they make cars, not child seats after all). I examined the intermediate seat a couple of weeks ago, and could see no branding information other than BMW - but I'd make a small bet that the seats are manufactured for BMW by someone like Romer. Offline | Viscount Charles - Is this the seat for the 9 month - 4 year child? http://mediapool.bmw.com/daten/grobdaten/A0031049.JPG My daughter is just passing 35 lbs (sorry, no conversion calculator handy) at 2 1/2 yrs old... Probably too early for the 4 yr. plus seat. Thoughts? 2003 Dark Silver / Black Cooper S Black Leatherette, Anthracite Trim, Premium / Sport / Cold Packages, HK Stereo, Auto Wipers / Mirror Visit My MINI Site |

Offline | Yup - tht's the one. Unlike the baby carrier, I've seen it on sale, it really exists. The accessory catelogue says that it's suitable for children weighing from 9kg and up - although omits to mention the upper weight limit, I'd guess at around 24kg (50lbs approx). Once they are about 18kg (approx 35lbs) the restraint tray is no longer required. Weights are more important than ages when choosing car seats. Although the items shown in the catelogue DON'T quite match the official price list ![]() The catelogue describes Junior Seat I+II as one item - the price list gives one entry for a "Junior seat I+II" and a separate entry for "Junior seat II". Junior seat III is a booster cushion, BTW. Part numbers differ between ISOFIX versions and non-ISOFIX versions. You pay a LOT more for the ISOFIX variety, so BMW is happy to charge a premium for safety ![]() Ordered my "S" August '01. Arrived July '02.
