Offline | Just in case this helps anyone, here are my pram experiences with my lovely newly-purchase 2004 mini ONE. Bugaboo Cameleon - I had a cameleon and because my daughter is 10 months was using the base and seat which to take in car obviously are in two large piece and ONLY just fitted the huge boot of my previous car - a golf. Anyway, I didn't even bother trying the cameleon in the mini as even if the chassis had fitted, where would the seat have gone! Okay when your baby is born as you only need the carseat with adaptors but no use when the baby is older and you can't do this any more. Yes you could put the seat/cot unit in the back of the car but you'd been endangering your child if you were in an accident and the thing went flying around the car and hit them... Also, to be honest, after 10 months of putting together and dismantling this thing I want something with a one-piece fold. Quinny Buzz - Had one of these when baby was born but traded it in for a Cameleon. Main reason was the brake which I didn't trust at all and used to give me nightmares. Quinny Zapp - Great and have bought this as a stop-gap but can't recline so no good for sleeping baby or toddler. Okay at the moment as this is my second pram and only for use out and about for short periods. Fits in the boot with room for shopping! Britax Verve - Fitted in boot fine but seemed very flimsy and bits kept falling off even when the woman was taking it out of the shop to try in boot! M&P Luna - Didn't even try this in boot as unbelievably the harness only fastened from the waist not attached at all to the back of the pram - poor baby would suffer from whiplash surely if you bumped over a curb! Bugaboo Bee - Yes! This is the one! Fits in boot no problem and also with the footmuff attached! Not available yet hence why bought Zapp as a stop-gap. Was very impressed by its manouverability, 4 position recline, brake, shopping basket, canopy and pretty much everything else. Bit weird looking but I bet everyone thought that of the Cameleon when it first came out. My only concern is I don't think it will last as long size-wise as some pushchairs in terms of a larger toddler/child of maybe 2 or 3 years old but I am willing to take that chance as it seems ideal for now. Am hoping a friend of mine will buy my Cameleon which should cover the cost so happy days! |

Offline | We are expecting our first baby in the Spring and my Wife would be heart broken to have to give up her Mini Cooper. Today we visited Mothercare in Southampton and we saw a 'travel system' pushchair we both liked - the Urban Detour Quantum. I was quite skeptical that it would fit in the Mini's boot. The extremely helpful chap that worked in the store came outside with us and showed us that by taking off the wheels, the pushchair would fit comfortably in the boot once the parcel shelf was removed. My wife is chuffed that she can now have her new baby without having to sell her first! |

Offline | Well, as the new arrival draws near, We thought it was time to get a pushchair that pits in the boot of the Mini. We have a full size M&P set for the Megane but as the old buggie we had used for the 2 boys was knackered it seemed like a good time to kill 2 birds with one stone. Having read through this thread I thought it would be a simple matter - pointed my wife in the direction of a Quinny Zapp and the reply was "Ugh, I don't like that....." So after much..... and I mean LOTS of faffing around trying out various pushchairs that she liked (but which wouldn't fit) we came across the Graco Excursion Travel System. It fits in the boot of my R50 Cooper with either the parcel shelf out OR 1 wheel off but as it is not going to be used in the MINI too often its a compromise I'll have to accept. Its on offer at the moment in Toys'r'Us for £109 and if you ask you can get a £10 off voucher as well. I'll do a picture later on once it stops snowing outside......... ![]() |

Offline | Yippee - found a stockist (who had a model in so I could try it in the boot) of the Jane (pronounced har-ney - spanish!!) Carerra Pro - it fits perfectly - no wheels off, no removal of parcel shelf, not too heavy and easy to erect/collapse. Thats me sorted then!! Just in case there is anyone in the Bristol area the stockist is "Little Ones" in Clevedon. They seem to have some good deals on them too (I think because they are last seasons colours - but I don't give a monkeys about the colour of it as long as it isn't lime green or yellow!!). They were very helpful but were wating to get some more stock in so if it all goes horribly wrong after this I will let you know!! The parenting forums I have read regarding this buggy seem to get very few negative comments so I think the decision is made (just have to prize hubbies wallet out of his back pocket now!!) Thanks for all the help guys ![]() |

Offline | Lizziestar - thats where I got mine from, they do free delivery on ebay and were very efficient. The Carrera's also really nice - I can't wait to play with mine properly. Beware though - the car seat doesn't fit in the mini (back seats) - as we have isofix we got a maxicosi and base! Rachxxx |

Offline | Bugaboo Cameleon Into Mini Boot?!! Hi there, As you all seem to be experts i am going to ask the dreaded question.... CAN I HAVE A MINI with my new pram?? I have seen some posts that say the bugabbo cameleon fits with wheels removed?? Is this totally stressful?? Because i could not cope with that on a day to day basis Is this the small wheels and has anyone tried to get the whole lot in?? i.e carrycot/seat on top of frame as could not have in car really, as also have a 3 year old. I am going down to mini but would rather know if the option is OUT Really dont want a family car, minis are just too cool! And they arent babies forever! Please help Danni |

| I am not a number!! | Forget the bugaboo, too much hassle taking the rear wheels off everytime you want to put it in the car and detach the seat unit and taking the parcel shelf out etc. Just buy something which actually fits without the hassle ![]() Its only a forum you know! ![]() |

Offline | Danni, I have a bugaboo and there is no way hose it will fit in a mini. The chassis MAY just fit with wheels off but then no room for the carrycot and defintely no room once this becomes a seat. The bugaboo bee is what I have ordered, comes on sale at end Feb most places. Not to everyones taste but folds down tiny and fits in the boot of my mini - I've tried the demo model, even with footmuff on! |

Offline | OK - my first post on this forum! My timeline reads like this: May 07 finally convince my fiance that its time I get a new car and since we don't have kids its the only time I'll be able to get the long-hankered after Cooper S Aug 07 get married Sept 07 discover we're expecting a honeymoon baby!!! Jan 07 discover that Mini and pushchair compatility equires a lot of research. Also found this forum! I have a couple of questions: Apart from the several sales assistants who had the cheek to tell me I need a new car, one extremely helpful assistant suggested the iCandy Cherry or Apple. Both fit , albeit with parcel shelf off, and tick all my other wants eg forward ro rear-facing pushchair, carrycot, compatible with Cabriofix etc etc. Anyone got any views on either of these? Hopefully positive as I was really quite impressed with it. I saw on the Which? site that the Apple doesn't have the best reviews since its quite heavy (9k) but I think most pushchairs of that sort are about that anyway??? All opinions gratefully received. Offline | You're in a pretty similar situation to us, I got pregnant 2 mths after buying the Mini (I'm due in March). My Mum is constantly going on about this fact, and that we should have bought a more sensible car!!! We looked at the Icandy but I think it involved taking off wheels etc, and eventually went with the Jane Carrera (even though the Rebel car seat wasn't compatible). We decided not to have a travel system as such and to get a Maxi cosi for the Isofix points, and treat the pushchair as a seperate thing entirely. My suggestion would be to go with your car to a pram shop and try them in the boot, practice taking in/out etc. The other pushchair that fitted easily when we tried was the Loola, however we preferred the Jane (but I think there's a new model coming out.) Good luck, its a bit of a nightmare, but sometimes having less choice can make the decision easier!!! |

Offline | Thanks for your suggestions. I took my mini along with me (figured no point going without it!) and both iCandy models did fit with wheels on although parcel shelf off which I guess will be my compromise for all the time it will need to be in my boot. My husband will have a much more sensible 4 door saloon (once he trades in his beloved BMW coupe - we decided that we couldn't both keep our 3 door no kids yet cars once Bump arrives and I won!) so I can always use his. Any more? |
