Offline | Fitting Baby Car Seat + Stroller For anyone interested. Pics of my MINI with Baby Gear: http://homepage.mac.com/scottgoldman...toAlbum57.html Since the MINI is my commuter car, I will rarely need to put the car seat in (our other car is a Volvo.) But our rear facing Britax Roundabout LATCH (ISOFIX) does barely fit. I wouldn't suggest this set up for everyday use. The passenger seat is pushed very far forward to fit the Rear Facing Britax. This gives you a small blind spot looking over your right shoulder, and if you are carrying a front passenger that - makes their head a blind spot too. It is a bit of work to crawl into the back and load the baby - you must be strong and limber. In another 6 months we can turn the seat FORWARD FACING - and many of these issues will go away. Our Baby road with us last weekend at the Long Beach MINI Poker Rally and all was successful (over 3 hours driving.) The new stoller - Combi Travel Savy fits perfectly in the boot. Hope this helps some other MINI Parents. -scott I hate to drive! But I LOVE to MOTOR! ___________________ 2003 Mini Cooper PS/ Black Roof, Red Int. Offline | Scott for posting those pics. I have been wondering how our car seat was going to fit with the ISOFIX. We have a Graco, so I can only wait to find out if it will work. My MINI should arrive late November early December. I know the stroller will not fit at neatly as yours did. Our stroller looks like a SUV all by itself If I did need the stroller I would have to drop one of the back seats. Thanks again. Looking forward to motoring with my baby. Rainey ![]() |

Offline | My wife is expecting in mid-May so I found this thread in my research. I noticed my German MINI brochure shows a 0+ ISOFIX seat, facing towards the rear, but installed in the front seat. I am guessing the airbag can be disabled by the dealer in this case. Is it better during the rear-facing time to put the seat up front? Offline | Not trying to preach and maybe I misunderstood your post, but I don't think you would ever want to put a rear facing child seat in the front of the car. My dealer didn't mention that the bag could be disabled (front). I asked a few questions about child seats. Is there a danger of the rear bags harming a rear seat passenger? Offline | That's what I thought too! So I was shocked to see it depicted in the MINI Germany accessory catalog. Thus, I started to think maybe I had no idea what was appropriate or not.... ?? Confused... Jason Jason Livingood | personal web site 2002 DS/W MINI Cooper S Thank you for signing my rear fog light petition. Now we have rear fogs! :-) |

Offline | I agree I too would have to agree with Charper. Unless they have a switch to disable the airbag then that would be a no no. Here is another piece of information I stumbled across. I read somewhere (don't remember exactly, but I believe that you are not supposed to use certain baby car seats with curtain side airbags. This does worry me a little since there is no other place to put the baby except on the side. If you think about it it may be just as dangerous. What are we supposed to do. Let me know if you have heard of such a thing. lwh |

Offline | For those of you with toddlers Here's a seat from Graco that we just installed. Fit's very well and IMO, screams Mini styling. Just wished they could have been silver instead of blue ![]() |
