Red Cooper Baby Seat

My wife is due our first baby in July - is there a website where I can look at photos of the official mini baby seats ?

Also do any forum members use any of the official mini baby seats - are they worth the money ?

There was a rather big thread on this subject before. Just do a search, I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

Indeed, try a search for infant seat and also for child seats, there are pictures and advice from members of MINI2 with experience in this matter on the forums.

When our baby was bon last July, the official seat was rumoured to exist (although I could find little evidence of it), but the buggy on which it was supposed to fit definately did not exist.

We searched around a bit for a baby seat and buggy combination that would actually fit in the boot (albeit sans parcel shelf) and we found the Graeco Metrosport was ideal. The single best feature (apart from the fact that it fits) is the plastic base thingy, which is permanently strapped into the car - the baby seat just clips on and off in a moment. Much better than mucking about with seatbelts.

Ordered my "S" August '01. Arrived July '02. EB with white roof, wheels and stripes, Chili pack, DSC and climate control. Hate those 17" runflats though.

Can now be seen all over the West Midlands, as a blue blur passing everything at speed

That's why I got the ISOFIX option for my MINI. Now all I need is a baby.

Peg Perego Primo Viaggio

I recently ventured to Babies'R'Us to try and fit the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio car seat and base. Below is a link to their new ISOFix / LATCH base (adjustable as well) and baby seat in the MINI.

The seat has to go fairly far forward. More important is the amount of recline of the front seat. You can see that my 5 foot 6 inch tall wife still has a little knee clearance.

Britax Roundabout

Yet another MINI2er posted pics of his Britax Roundabout. This is a front-facing seat for when the baby gets larger / heavier.

http://homepage.mac.com/scottgoldman...toAlbum57.html

I have ordered one of these for when my expected baby (mid-May) is big enough. Would have bought from Babies-R-Us but did not like the brown and green colors. I found a site called BabyAge.Com that a friend owns that offers other colors and have gotten the "CowMooFlage" color which is a cow-print basically.

Some of the ones in a rear facing position look quite dangerous. Seem to upwards to me!

Red Cooper

I have a baby seat in the back of my Cooper.

In Australia, the brand is 'Aunger' and it looks like a mini sports seat. Of course it is trimmed in black and red to match the car.

The baby seat is similar to the booster in the attached picture.

That is too cool! Looks just like a racing seat!

WARNING - do not fit any other ISOFIX system into your MINI other than a BMW one - I wanted to buy a britax seat with ISOFIX connection, but Britax told me that it would fit, but they could'nt approve it as BMW have not approved any other seat in the car apart from there own. The short of it is, if you put an un approved seat into your vehicle it will invalidate the the insurance in the event of a claim.

The only seat Britax approved for the MINI was the renaissance. I dont know about the other companies, but be weary of ISOFIX with other makes apart from BMW.

They haven't approved other ISOFIX baby seats, because they want everyone to buy theirs!
