Question ANOTHER car seat thread (sorry!)

Hi everyone,

My first post here... been "lurking" for a few weeks, as I'm on the verge of ordering an S. Awesome forum, really great info and community.

I'm hoping for some advice. I have two kids, 6 and 4. Took them, and my wife, up to the MINI dealership for my second test drive. The booster seats didn't fit well at all, and the kids were seriously cramped (absolutely zero leg room) even though my wife and I are small people (5'-4", and 5'-7", respectively). I love the MINI but can't justify it if the kids won't fit.

I'm wondering if any parents out there are toting kids of that approximate age around, and what kind of booster seats you're using. I'm happy to buy a different kind of seat, but I'm not sure which one to try.

I know there's been a bunch of threads on this, but most focus on infant seats... couldn't find any specifics on boosters.

Thanks in advance!

Well, I have had two people of 6'2" in the front seat while two people sat in back of 5'3" plus we had a weeks worth of groceries. The mini is not a mini van! Chrysler carries those, has the mini name in it but not quite a mini. The kids will be fine in the back of a mini. You can get mini booster and car seats designed for the mini through the mini parts department. Kids have survived for many years in Europe in car this size and smaller. I myself was a kid who was ferried around in the back of an orginal Mini Cooper in the late 60's and I came out okay.

Just order the car. If the kids complain, leave them at home.
