Offline | Calling all parents - I know there have been previous discussions about this but I am desperate for any help on the subject of baby car seats. I have a cooper S (gorgeous, called Spike) and I am expecting a baby in November. I am totally confused (and actually quite bored) re the subject of baby seats - can anyone recommend a baby seat (suitable for new born) that I can put in the back seat.(I need to leave space in the front passenger seat for my husband!) I would be very grateful for any advice. Does MINI actually make one - I couldn't find any details on the web site? I would be eternally grateful for any help. Thank you Mary x |

Offline | Hello, welcome to MINI2, and congratulations on the baby. As you say, this has been gone over quite a bit in the past, and the answer is out there (many times probably). Do you have ISOFIX in your MINI, and do you intend to use it? MINI produce ISOFIX and non-ISOFIX seats, I have car seat 0+ ISOFIX and it's very good, but pricey at £280. This thread should help, and others like it: http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...hlight=seat%2A There are other car seats that fit, Britax is another brand that's popular in the UK, try searching for britax for advice on that one. Offline | Thanks Paul - I was about to buy an estate car and you saved the day!! Just another quick question - can you have isofix fitted retrospectively and does isofix go in the back seat? Mary |

| MINI2 Master | There are still many baby seats that will fit in the back of a MINI that don't use ISOfix, just the usual seat belt arrangement. ISOfix is potentially safer since it is easier to fit correctly, however it is not essential. Having said that I do have ISOfix in the back of my MINI....just in case ![]() |

Offline | Britax Duo is the only infant seat 9m-4years in the UK that can work with Isofix (apart from teh over priced BMW seat). Halfords have it NOW for £50 off list at something around £130! |
