United-Kingdom Baby options

Hello all....

Missus Hicks owns a mini cooper and in 4 months may have to sell it (*Gasp[) if she cannot find a way to accomadate a newborn. Do mini do any baby seats or pushchairs? Has anyone else dealt with this problem? and if so how?.....

Sorry to put up this thread...after all finding ways to fit the biggest speakers is much more important :P.....

Thx all....Hicks

If you have ISOFIX you can use the Britax ISOFIX rear facing seat for your little one. Seats such as the Mamas and Papas Primo Viaggio Travel System will fit with the front seat pushed forward but it is a very tight squeeze in/out - not recommended. The MINI system seems very overpriced.

Mr Mullett uses a Mamas and Papas Aria Buggy that fits as does a new tri-fold buggy from www.silvercross.co.uk PM Rakey for more details on the Silver Cross buggy. Some of the really cheap buggies from Mothercare may fit, such as the McLarens and own brand versions.

There is just one moon and one golden sun; And a smile mean friendship to ev'ryone; Through the mountains divide, and the oceans are wide; It's a small world after all.

can help with new born stuff - but our maclaren fits neatly behind the drivers seat. Britax Renassance alsp fits well and lifts the kiddies high up in the back so they can see out of the windows!

A few threads on this subject

http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46871

http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45845

http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50300

But basically to sum it all up, there are a couple of products that I know that will fit in the boot of a MINI.

The M&P Aria, a two dimensional folding pushchair

The Chicco Ponne', same as above

Graco Citi Sport, same as above

all of these products are very similar, my choice out of the three would be the Chicco one, as I have know the factory where they are made, know it is a well designed product and a bit more sturdy than the other two which I know have had design issues in the past.

Then there is one more

The Silver Cross Compact, a three dimensional folding stroller

Main differences are that this is the only 3 dimensional folding stroller that will fit in the boot of a MINI, yes you can get others from mothercare or maclaren, but they are too big to go in the MINI boot.

If you need more advice, or have questions I will try and help you out, but really can't recommend enough that you go to your local INDEPENDENT Nursery retailer, get a demo, have feel of them, try them in the car, as you will then get a better idea of what you like the feel off and what suits you personally the best

Has anybody with a CD changer bought a Silver Cross Compact and managed to fit it in the boot of their MINI?
