Was going to get the I+II but the £266 price the dealer quoted me made me think twice.

What age / weight does the 0+ go up to?

The 0+ baby seat is from 3-13kg (upto about 18 months), cost around £200+

The I-II junior seat is from 9-18kg, costs around £155

Thanks Kinster!

Is the I+II the seat that comes in yellow or blue only?

I think the blue one has a dodgy cartoon pattern in the middle? It's in the accessories brochure. Both seats come in both colours.

I couldn't find a 0+ isofix seat. We ended up getting a normal seatbelt 0+ seat and getting BMW to disable the Front passenger airbag. He out grew the 0+ seat in about 6 months and is now in the BMW/Mini Isofix seat carried in the back seat.

Mikey,

Are you please with the 2nd stage seat and how much did you pay for it. Can this seat also be used in other cars being fixed in place by the seatbelts?

Thanks

I take it if you get the ISOFIX I+II you can still use the seat in non ISOFIX other brand of cars eg Saabs?

Just got another quote for the ISOFIX I+II from another dealer....this time £275 inc VAT (and apparently its only in blue!!! I am sure I saw yellow too in the Mini acc brochure)

Come on BMW dealers get your facts right.

Perhaps you could tell me which dealer you got yours for £155 please

Then I'll go on the warpath!

Kinster,

Been to another dealer (in Stevenage) and they quoted me £275 inc VAT

Must have sucker for high price tatooed on my forehead

The only thing I can think of is that this includes the tray / leg restraint so you dont't use the seat belt at all. Is that the same as yours?

Cheers

IsoFix seats clip to a bar fixed into a car. In the Mini, the bar is in the seat itself. You don't have to use the seat belts to hold the seat in place. They are designed to be fitted to cars much more easily, and should be much safer.

Melo Yelo

Stevenage don't seem too switch on with parts

The £147 will be for non ISOFIX without restraining tray

If it really is for the full ISOFIX one I will be down there in a flash

Perhaps let me know exactly what they have quoted you on

Cheers

Do I HAVE to buy a special "MINI/BMW" or car seat or can I just go out to the local "Babies R Us" (an endless void of baby stuff)and pick one? And if I do need a special car seat do they make booster seats, up to 80lbs? I'm hoping this whole MINI carseat thing is just people wanting their car seat to be a MINI too. (kind of like the whole $100 floormat thing ) I will be really angry if I have to run around trying to locate special carseats, especially if they are not availible.

When I checked with MINI about a month ago, the MINI isofix seats weren't avaiable in the states.
If you find a seat or booster with the "LATCH" system, it's the same thing as ISOFIX and should work fine.
The Britax Expressway is the only US LATCH seat I've found so far, front facing only.

AHHHHHHHHH!!! My head is spinning. Can't I just toss him in the trunk? That's what my parents did and I turned out just fine I'm kidding, I'm kidding Heck by the time my MINI gets here my son will be driving it and wondering how to fit my walker into the trunk

Side Note - Am I the only person who is disturbed by the vast number of people out there that cannot install a carseat correctly (or be bothered to get help doing it)? Is anybody else out there totally freaked that these people are allowed to drive AND raise children
