New Born Infant Carriers

Have been looking today for a New born infant carrier - have tried the Britax Rock a Tot , the Maxi Cosi Cabrio carrier, Mothercare Travel Tot Deluxe and even the Graco system and non were a good enough fit for the Mothercare seat expert to recomend for use in our MCS He was concerend there was too much lateral (sideways) movement in all the seats we tried fitting

So now I am totally confused about where to go and what to try next.......

Really need help on this, can anyone shed any light on what else we can try....

------> I have a Gen1 Works S and I'm proud of it <------

You COULD pay through the nose for the official MINI/BMW seat, I did but only for it's ISOFIX approval (which I understand you don't have).

The only other thing is to search here, and wait for an answer from someone else who's got experience.

One thing to note is not all "experts" are the same, we had different results for the same seats at different centres when we were shopping around for the "next step" car seat after the infant seat. Someone with more experience of a car and/or seat can sometimes make it fit properly, and vice versa with someone less experienced making a good seat fit badly.

We had a local "safety centre", they're good, so it might be worth seeing if you have an independent specialist near you too.
