Offline | Bugaboo Frog Hi We've just started looking at buggies for our 1st baby. I've got a hatchback Mini (the 04 facelift model) and was wondering if anyone knows if the Bugaboo frog will fit in the boot and if you have to take the parcel shelf out? |

Offline | We've got a Bugaboo Frog and love it However...to get it into the MINI would be extremely difficult and might require folding the seats down leaving our child at home. Unfortunately the Bugaboos are not MINI friendly. ![]() |

Offline | Hi, Just stumbled across this. We're expecting our first baby in just over a week and we bought the Bugaboo Frog. Although none of the pushchairs on the market seem to be a perfect fit for the Mini we found the Frog fits quite well. The chassis fits in the boot if you remove the two large wheels (quick release so dead easy) but we do have to fold one of the back seats down to fit the carrycot in. Good thing is that it wedges in so no room for movement.. ie, won't hit baby in car seat on other side. Other than the Bugaboo, we heard that the Jane fits and found that the Quinny Zap (bit flimsy) and Buzz (not as good a fit as the Frog and quite cumbersome) were our only options. Obviously haven't put it all into practice as yet but I hope it won't be too much of a hassle. One baby shop even suggested that I sell the Mini for a more practical car..??? Not likely!!! Hope you find your perfect match. Petlamb |

Offline | The Quinny Zapp fits very easily (with loads of room too!), and the Mamas & Papas Aria also fits with no need to take off wheels or anything like that. Not sure if the Quinny Buzz fits, I know it's been discussed in here before though, so a search should bring it up. |

Offline | Hi, The Zapp would fit perfectly as it folds so small but we thought it was a bit flimsy for a newborn.. plus you would have to use it with the Maxi Cosi Cabrio car seat (which we've just discovered doesn't fit safely in our Mini) and we were told a newborn should only be in a car seat for 2 hours a day max.. so that one was out. We were dead set on getting the Buzz before we tried it.. it does fit if you take the wheels off, etc but I found it quite cumbersome to 'drive'.. kept banging into things! Plus the Maxi Cosi car seat problem again and didn't like the lie flat position of the Buzz. So the Bugaboo won out for us. Although I do hear that one of the Jane's fits perfectly. |

Offline | When we were shoppnig around we didn't want a travel system as babies shouldn't stay in the same seat/position for too long, and it's not generally recomended, the Quinny's didn't exist so we went for the Mamas and Papas Aria and the BMW ISOFIX seat. In the winter we bought a Quinny Zapp, which has proved fantastic, but not good for a newborn as you say, as it doesn't recline, whereas the Aria does. The car seat we moved up to was the Maxi Cosi Priori XP, which fits like a glove. It's also worth noting for others that different seats/trim have a slighty different contour and amounts of give, the leather in my father--in-laws S, my wifes fabric One, and my half-leather S seats all gave a slightly different fit! |

Offline | We've had our Mini Cooper and boy for 1 year now. We started with the Bugaboo Frog, which fits the frame in the boot and the carrycot with the seat down - you can buy a sleep mattress for the Frog, so it's good for overnight stays up until your little one is able to pull themselves up. This worked great for us. We also had the BMW ISOFIX car seat and it is great (no sideways movement!). Recently migrated to Quinny Zap plus Samsonite tent-style travel cot - both fit in the boot (as the same time), along with folding high chair ("Safety First"), backpack for food and nappies etc. (Avent), baby clothes and toys - all with the parcel shelf in, no seats folded down or anything. I've also taken the Quinny on flights in the overhead locker. I can recommend this combination once your child is sitting strongly. Going to see our dealer later this week abount a new child seat - apparently the list Junior I-II etc. that still appears on the Mini website is not the set of car seats currently available - not sure what that means, they're getting some in to show us, I'll let you know... does anybody else know about this? Cheers, miw |
