Offline | Not to mention they're wicked fast. The charge actually lasts a long time. They kid in the store where I got mine says he bought the performance kit for it but doesn't use it. He drives it in the store when there's no customers. Said it was fast enough as is. |

Offline | I managed to get all three IJ cars for $18. I bid on a bunch of them, so I'll actually end up with five or six cars, some of which I got for $1.99 plus shipping, and some for $5.00 plus shipping. There is another series called "Import Heat", and I think I got one of those, BRG/W, for $5. |

Offline | Maybe it's because my primary hobby used to be detailed scale models, that I have a nit to pick with the JL cars. The overall level of detail is exceptional. I have all three IJ cars, plus one Import Heat, and another Cooper S. There are two distinct castings for the IJ cars, one for the Coopers, and one for the S, all with aero kits, and spots. They look awesome. The BRG/W Import Heat car is a different casting, with proper Cooper S features, without the aero kit. All four of these cars have decent renditions of the R90 wheel, and low-profile rubber. The DS/W Cooper S seems to share the body casting of the BRG car, but it has awful, undersized wheels and tires. They apparently were more interested in having a 6-spoke, pseudo s-lite, than having a wheel of the proper size. I was trying to swap wheels from one of my spare IJ cars onto the DS/W car, as the IJ is destined for "play", while I want the DS car as a miniature rendition of my Cooper S. The wheels do not easily come off the axles, so now I'm thinking about drilling-out the rivets, and swapping the bodies. Has anyone else tried this? For some reason, collecting these little cars has rejuvenated my interest in my full-size car. Just when my S was beginning to seem like common transportation, the pursuit of the collectible little cars reminded me of why I was so excited about the Cooper S in the first place. |

Offline | The problem will be putting them back togehter. The bodies are made of pot metal and would crumble apart on any attempt to screw or rerivet the bottom to the top. I'm the oposite; In my collection of 30 different types of coopers diecast to R/C with the execption of 3; are still in there origanal packaging. Tavis1 ![]() |

Offline | Managed to pick up the white one up at a big classic car show in Birmingham on the weekend - could it be the only one in the UK? Nice model too, well pleased - so I should be, it cost me £9!?! G ![]() |

Offline | How did I miss this thread? If any of you remember I've stated before that I'm slowly regressing back to my childhood days! First it's decals on the car now it's hotwheels and matchbox cars. I got the large 1:6th scale from Sam's Club last year ![]() From Mad4Models ![]() From Burago a snap together 1/43 scale CR/W ![]() And now I can't go near a store without going in and checking out the hotwheels What a sad state I'm in. But when I find them I'm like a kid, or so says my wife ![]() I've managed to find a few extras, available at cost plus shipping for other ageless 40 somethingers 1 JL Import Heat BRG/W, 3rd from the left on the shelf 2 JL Import Heat Black/UJ, 2nd from left 2 Matchbox CR/UJ #75, on yet another shelf not pictured, sad, sad ![]() 1 Burago ![]() |

Offline | I ended up with a complete IJ set, plus two extra red ones. Then, I got two DS/W, and a BRG/W. The wheels on the DS cars are so lame, that I drilled out the chassis rivets, and swapped the bodies of the DS cars with the two extra red ones (I used a "metal glue" similar to JB Weld). I painted the roof of one DS to match my car, then by selectively painting the spokes of the wheels, I ended up with decent renditions of s-lites on one, and R90s on the other. Tackling the bonnet stripes might be a bit much. |

Offline | Well happy with the Johnny Lightning model - it's so much better than the detail-wise than the Corgi model which I also saw at the weekend. Wouldn't mind getting the other red and blue cars if anyone's happy to split their sets. How much would shipping be to the UK? G ![]() |

Offline | My package was to Germany and weighed about a pound and the box was close to 4x4x12. Like I said, cheaper to send than I thought. World keeps getting smaller and smaller, I guess. ![]() Michael |
